( Iconses )
( 3 Jacob, 1 Sam, 2 Sam and Jack, 6 Jack )Feel free to snurch if you like, no need to ask, but credit is appreciated.
In honour of that, and because I've been thinking for a while that I need a book icon, I've made a few. Feel free to snurch if you want. Or, in fact, to use as bases - most of them are fairly plain.
( Icons behind cut. )
1. Reply to this post and I will pick five of your icons
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose if you damn well feel like it.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
Aurora asked me about...
( ...these icons. )
So there you are. They're all made by me, because I'm funny about that. I like to have ones that I won't get confused with other people's (although I have seen the 'still hot' one around the interwebs, but I did say it was snurchable). I've been trying to conquer my need to have the perfect icon every time, because I only have 110 spaces, and that's not quite enough.
That's my brain for today.
Spectacularly repellent cough I have here. You guys, stop writing funny stuff (I'm looking at you, Abyssis. ZOMG, Daniel and Sam, PhD, hahaha!). Laughing sets me off. ;)
*glees at copy of In The Eyes Of A Stranger that landed on my doorstep with perfect timing for my day off sick* Ooh, RDA... nice hair. You could lose the beard, though.
I've gone through and re-tagged all my lj posts properly, so everything is findable. Particularly if you want to read my blathering. Also, I made a new icon, which I am using at every given opportunity. Because I can. Also the two icons below, which will probably only be funny to those of you who've seen the first episode of Black Books.
edit: Oh, forgot to say, picture heavy behind the cut. Pictures such as the icon used for this post.
Pictures by Edward Gorey. Borrowed by me, 'cause I think they're genius. My particular favourites are Ida, Neville, Prue, Victor, and Xerxes.
Comment:
And I will name you 3 interests from your list, and 3 userpics and you explain them in your own post asking the same of your flisters.

In other news... my boots are very pointy today. It's sort of fun, looking like a wicked witch, but I'm half afraid I'm going to trip over them. It's not completely unknown for me to be a klutz when it comes to putting one foot in front of another. If I get distracted enough when I'm walking, sometimes I forget how many feet I have, and which one comes next. Perhaps I was a centipede in a previous life.
Also, I made some new icons, mostly for use in things not Stargate-related. Anyone know who these ladies are?:
edit: Oh, these are the other icons. Welcome to use them if you want.
edit: I offer pictorial illustration. No adjustment was made to these pics, aside from the added words. This was the horrible-yet-lovely pink filter they used. Pics from Robin's death scene. *sobs*
Take, use, be free, give credit, etc. I'm not the world's best icon-maker. I pretty much just take a screencap, tidy it up a bit, and slap on a caption. *shrug*
...to use one of the icons wot I made this weekend. And to express my general feelings this morning.
edit: I'm not sure about my new default icon. It's scaring me a little.
edit 2: Ugh. Nasty chocolate raisins. I like 'em, generally speaking and in limited quantities, but these... the chocolate is unpleasantly dry and crunchy. It's somewhat like eating Bakelite. I'm not sure if that's because a) it's inferior chocolate, b) they're coated in some kind of shiny substance (possibly carnauba wax), c) they've gone stale, or d) all of the above.
I feel bizarrely decadent throwing them in the bin. But, heck, if I'm going to have empty calories, I damn well want to enjoy 'em. Like I would, say, one or two of the Indian sweets that my brother's girlfriend just brought back from holiday, for my dad.
Mmmmm.... stolen goodies...

And why the horribly anachronistic way they all speak, dress, act...? And the stupid location titles - 'Sherwood Forest'. No! Really? I'd never have guessed what with all the TREES! And the completely unsubtle attempts to crowbar modern issues into what's essentially a costume drama - ye gods. Give audiences some credit - they might actually be able to get their heads around the different mindset of people from the Middle Ages. It doesn't always have to be pop culture to be watchable and/or relevant. *grinds teeth*
Okay, okay, if I don't like it, don't watch it, etc - I agree. Actually, I'm not watching it. I gave it a try, watched the first few episodes, but decided, for the sake of my sanity and the ongoing not-smashed-in-ness of my TV, I'd better stop. He makes me want to chew my own fingers off in sheer rage.
edit: If anyone wants to use these icons, use away. Just gimme credit if asked - not that they were much effort to make.

Fell asleep last night just as some lines / vague ideas for an SG-1 story popped into my fron. Then woke up late, had to rush in for an early meeting, had no time to myself until lunchtime. Jotted down some notes, so it hasn't all vanished. I should be writing more of it down, though, instead of journaling. Eh. I'm letting it mature.
After years of experimentation, I've found that the ideas I come up with just as I fall asleep are actually better if I let them brew for a bit. Unlike tea, which stews. Person in my office should take note. I used to get frustrated by forgetting things by the morning, but I've found they come back if I trace my thought processes.
