Based on the Stargate novels I've read so far (see list in the sidebar to the left), my personal recommendations for ones worth trying would be:
- Sacrifice Moon (SO good, and so far everyone has concurred on that)
- A Matter Of Honor / The Cost Of Honor (strong, well-written, exciting, resolves a plot from the show)
- Survival Of The Fittest (exciting, and has Siler in Simpsons pjs, and Hammond, Janet and Bra'tac playing major roles)
Sort-of recommend:
- Roswell (confusing and quite daft, and missing a portion that I'd like to have read - but still pretty exciting)
And, for cracky Sam/Jack fun:
- City Of The Gods (way to work those cliches!)
---
So. Trees. When does Jack say that he doesn't like trees? Does he say it more than once? Does anyone know?

Prisoners:
DANIEL: We practically just got here. We have no idea what this planet has to offer.
O'NEILL: Trees and moss.
[snipped additional dialogue]
O'NEILL: Ah! Ah! We'll, ah…flag it for an aerial survey. As much as I love a good rain forest…
Demons:
"Ah, trees, trees, and more trees. What a wonderfully green universe we live in, eh? Where's that village?"
Paradise Lost:
"I see trees, Harry. You get that in Colorado."
That's all I can recall offhand.
So, unless there's another one that you've not remembered, he doesn't even say he dislikes trees. He just implies that he's a little bored of seeing them all over the universe.
