I'm...not sure how I feel about this. My first thought was WTF!? Woolsey didn't even enter my mind as a possible choice. And, while I like his character in small doses, he comes in specifically to be the antagonist. So it makes me a little nervous. But I can see why they made the choice, because it definitely brings tension and will allow Sheppard to do his "rebellious, heroic officer" thing.
And I'm really glad Amanda decided to do Sanctuary instead because I like that better than Atlantis and I want to see her get more screentime
But I much prefer your idea to Woolsey. Because Paul Davis is love.
Yeah, I expect he's come out of left field for a lot of people. It's an interesting choice. I'd be far more likely to watch a show with Paul Davis as head of Atlantis, but that may be because I totally have an SG-1 bias. :)
I would not miss an episode if Davis was head of Atlantis. Of course, I totally have an SG-1 bias as well. Witness the fact that I only watched half a dozen or so eps of SGA before Amanda came. And I'm pretty sure they were all the ones where an SG-1 cast member guest starred. I only went back and watched the first two seasons so I would know what was going on storyline-wise.
