My disappearing necklace has had an entirely appropriate end. It didn't turn up yesterday, so I gave up looking for the time being. Now, in the far corner of my living room is a chair no one sits in much, because it's usually covered in coats and other junk. It's out of the way, and I didn't go near it yesterday, but today my mum came to visit, and went to sit there. We chatted, and got to talking about the missing necklace. Mum told me it was all about positive thinking, and giving up, and then said, "I bet I can find it." I said okay, she was welcome to go look. She leaned forwards to get up, and picked up something from the corner and said, "It's not this, is it?"
It was.
...Spooky. Positively spooky. I'd have thought it was a big practical joke, except it clearly wasn't. So, yay! I didn't eat it! *g* How it got there, I have no idea, though. Oh well.

Aw, I hope you find your ring. It can't have gone far if you didn't leave the house, that's always my theory - although that doesn't help if they slip into cracks in the floorboards or things like that - not far, but not findable, either. Might your cat have played with it?
Kaylee has quite a habit of hiding things. When I came home I used to always put my keys on my dresser. One day I couldn't find them. I tore up the place looking for them and was about to go to get new keys made before my roommate left for the weekend when I found them. They were in my sock drawer. Kaylee must have pushed them into the drawer when it was open and I didn't see them when I closed it. I know put my keys on a hook out of her reach.
