My disappearing necklace has had an entirely appropriate end. It didn't turn up yesterday, so I gave up looking for the time being. Now, in the far corner of my living room is a chair no one sits in much, because it's usually covered in coats and other junk. It's out of the way, and I didn't go near it yesterday, but today my mum came to visit, and went to sit there. We chatted, and got to talking about the missing necklace. Mum told me it was all about positive thinking, and giving up, and then said, "I bet I can find it." I said okay, she was welcome to go look. She leaned forwards to get up, and picked up something from the corner and said, "It's not this, is it?"

It was.

...Spooky. Positively spooky. I'd have thought it was a big practical joke, except it clearly wasn't. So, yay! I didn't eat it! *g* How it got there, I have no idea, though. Oh well.

You have no idea how many times that type of thing happens to me. The second I stop looking, either I find it or my mother finds it. But I'm glad you found it - it sounds like a lovely piece and it would have been quite sad if you couldn't wear it anywhere!

Yeah, it happens a fair amount to me, too. Mostly through my own fault - I also found a jar of nutmeg in my pots and pans cupboard this morning. *eyeroll* I'm like that, I guess - if I'm distracted, nothing is safe. :D

^^;; Yeah... I do this thing where I'll set something down without paying any attention to where I set it, and then it'll take me hours to find it again. I'm terrible... but it's nice to know I'm not the only person in my acquaintance who does that!
