My house is messy, and it's all your fault!

I see it all, now!

My laptop went away to have the CD/DVD drive fixed, yesterday (*clings*), so I was internetless for most of yesterday evening, aside from a few stolen moments on the bf's computer. So, yesterday I -

- Unearthed my old desktop computer from the pile of papers under which it had disappeared.
- Fired it up, tidied up some files, and discovered that actually it's not a bad old machine.
- Organised the papers and assorted other junk for filing.
- Wrote some NaNo.
- Did the washing-up early.
- Went to bed at a reasonable hour.

I am an addict. I see it clearly now - I'm addicted to the internetz (because my desktop doesn't hold sway over me, clearly - I spent more time tidying up around it that I did actually playing on it, because it's omg slow).

I won't get the laptop back until sometime next week, by which time I'm fairly confident I'll either have gone barmy, or tidied the house, or written my NaNo novel. Or all three. I need a desk lamp, though. And some way of stopping the office from being cold as the slopes of Hades. Ikea this weekend, perhaps.

I might institute No Laptop Week, once a month. Well, maybe not a full week... *is relapsing already*

Someone should write [personal profile] holdouttrout and me some Volcano God fic, btw.

ETA: I feel totally safe now. Take a look at my personal bodyguard, kindly loaned to me by [personal profile] stargazercmc :

*admires the pritty*

Note how they are all in glasses and how insanely hot that makes them. Don't you all want to be in trouble, just so you too can borrow the Geeks Of Hotness? Yes. Yes, you do.

I'm addicted to the internetz

Hi, Pepper! You're in good company here. *g*

The wailing I heard earlier must have been the internetz missing you. It always shrieks whenever a regular can't get on as usual.

...Now that's a sinister image. *g*

*eyes the internetz nervously*

Haha oh internet addictions... if you ever wondered why I get irate when IT services messes with the internet connections, it's not because I can't check my school email from my room. It's amazing how productive one can be once there is no internet around though!!!

Heh - yes, indeed - I might complain that I need my laptop for NaNo, etc, but really I just want to read my flist. *g*

It's like I've rediscovered my house now, though. Is very exciting!

I hope you have much chocolate on hand to help you through the nasty withdrawal!

Good luck with the writing! (perhaps lack of interweb will get you to write the Jack/Sara apocafic novel masterpiece over the weekend - hey, a girl can dream...)

And, um, what is with this volcano god fic thing?

Enjoy your hot bodyguards!

Well... I said I'd had a dream about volcanoes, Trout said someone else had remarked that there wasn't enough Volcano God fics in Stargate fandom, and I posited that the boys of SG-1 would look nice in grass skirts. :)

The hot geek bodyguards are trouble. They followed me to work, and the Doctor has done something to the photocopier, Wesley is criticising the texts for next year's exams, Daniel and Mulder won't stop comparing notes about aliens, Gil Grissom (from CSI) has been trying to arrest my colleagues - and Giles is refusing to be the responsible one and take charge.

:)

I'm very fond of my hot geek bodyguards, but they really shouldn't be let out without some kind of geekherder. I need Jack!

Oooh, pornucopia Volcano God fic... I like the way you think.

Even if they are trouble, they look like they'd be worth it.

Well, yes. But I would like Jack, too, to help keep them in line.

Yes, that's what I want Jack for. Of course.

Jack would be a very useful person to have around. To keep the geeks in line. He's got a lot of practice at it. He's a very practical person. Very handy in an emergency.

Just ignore the icon.
