Mine also had a severe theme--professor, writer, etc...all things to do with words.

And I work for a financial advisor.

WTF?

Heh. Well, I guess the question is, do you want to be working for a financial advisor? What I got is nothing like what I'm actually doing (unfortunately).

And they're not exactly realistic with their recommendations. How about a handy map of the career path, huh?

Heh heh. True--they really aren't that realistic. But on the other hand, it can give you an idea of what you want to do, and then you can research from there.

My problem is that whilst I'm tempted toward the writerly things, I'm very happy with my financial job and the paycheck I get from doing boring paperwork and client service stuff. So for now, the writing goes after-hours. *shrugs*

I really don't want to work in people's mouths all day, and if I'm going to work with dead things, I'd rather be a medical examiner. Though the podiatrist suggestion has its merits... My selection, while it has a theme (I think), is definitely a little more varied!

Wow, that's varied all right! Hee. It does seem quite keen on you working in dentistry in some way, doesn't it? Big logic jumps between SFX technician, chiropractor, zoologist, librarian... :D

Funny.

That list is about as random as I am.

If I became a special effects technician, I could start channeling Peter DeLuise in Wormhole X-Treme! Haha... oh dear...

BIGGER!

i've no idea what this means to me because i used to study fishfarming then went on an exchange that just kept going - studying international relations. and i like both fields extremely, yet have the esthetic sense of a gnat for most things - just like looking at pretty things. always the audience never the creator...

Interesting. There's a strong practical streak there, by the looks of it, and you're happy to work with people.

But more interesting is the jump from fishfarming to international relations! That's... a big change. :)

If the college I was trying to do it with hadn't sucked, I'd be halfway through a GIS certification right now...

mmmm, themes. 8 of my top 10 were variations on "engineer" The other two? Elevator installer and Office machine repairer.

Hah! Funny. I'd never heard of it before. I don't think it's the best choice of careers for me, personally, but I do like looking at maps. But I'm terrible - terrible - at technical diagrams of anything. My brain doesn't seem to do simple graphic representation. It wants to draw what's actually there. I always had to draw the gas tube on the bunsen burner, and then the tap to which it connected, and then the table, coloured to illustrate that the table was wooden, and... Yeah.

And, hee - well, it obviously thought you're very practical. Elevator installer sounds like the sort of job that sounds cool to a five-year-old. :)

9. computer animator
10. truck driver

This is actually really funny because I really wanted to go into fashion design, particular costume design. I ended up getting a general Fine Arts degree at a liberal arts college, because I didn't want to go into at least $100,000 worth of debt to study Fashion at the art school here, even if it is a world class school. I also realized that I just don't have the drive and cut-throated-ness to make it in fashion. I do love clothes and fashion though. *sigh*

Truck driver is kind od of funny thrown against those other ones, but I really do love to drive and travel.

It definitely sounds like it thinks you should be a behind the scenes media creative. Nice. I could definitely go for your job list. :)

I can see the appeal of truck driving - at least, in theory. In practice, I suspect the crappy bits might outweigh the nice bits. Personally.
