I managed to make The Bread That Ate Manhattan this evening. I followed the recipe and everything. I think maybe I left it to rise too long. Still, it'll be lighter that way, which is probably a good thing for wholemeal walnut bread.

But the RL finished product looks like this - with, for comparison, my hand (did I ever tell you about the time I was a hand model? My life sounds so much more interesting in brief soundbites):

I should just look at it from the side. It looks relatively normal from the side:

Must be something about the weekend. I baked my honey wheat bread and it did the same thing. Both loaves totally overflowed the pans! It won't fit in the bread slicer thing now!
But it is quite nice as I'm sure your bread is too. I'll bet it's heavenly!
