So, Morpheus. Episode two of season 10 of Stargate. At this rate, I should reach the end by, oh, 2019. (Don't these dates sound improbable? Next year it'll be 2010. 2010.)
Aw, Vala - wanting so badly to be part of the team. I think she's totally right, and you can cram for a psych test - she just didn't know the right way to go about it. Which, actually, surprises me - I'd think she'd be better at that, no matter how familiar or not she is with any particular planet. It's her ability to adapt that makes her a survivor. The scene with her and the lie detector was cute (although if they wanted her to be lying about the doctor's appearance, they should've got a less-cute actor, IMO). She did a great job of turning the tables on Woolsey at the end - hah!
I'm glad Daniel stuck up for her right to be on the team, but I shouldn't have watched The Ties That Bind immediately before this, because the turnaround was quite startling. Somehow, she made Landry quite endearing, too. I think her stubbornness and self-assurance about what to do reminded him of his daughter.
Ew to bugs in one's brain. And hah, if I hadn't just watched Window of Opportunity yesterday, with Aurora mentioning that Malikai reappears as an SG team leader, would I have noticed it was the same actor? Possibly - he's quite distinctive, and I have watched WoO a lot. Or possibly I'd have racked my brains to place him, and eventually asked my flist.
Teal'c, of course, rocks, and saved the day, but with nothing much fun to do. Cam ftw for the Python reference, which told A (he'd made a sarcastic remark earlier about Stargate and the Holy Grail). I swear Daniel should have a research team looking through all the books he owns, just at the pictures. They always seem to contain Gate addresses. Honestly, looking at just the pictures would be dead quick, and totally worth it.
What, though, was the lizard living on? Huh? The ecosystem is screwed, the parasites go dormant once there's nothing around to feed on... and Stargate's grasp of ecology hasn't improved since The First Commandment.
This was cute:
Daniel: "I got it! I got it. I made the connection. Sir Gawain to Gwalchmei. Culhwch and Olwen. Verus Gen Bree."
Sam (quietly, to Cam): "And you say I'm hard to understand."
And then of course I had to go read
surreallis 's Five Missing Ship Scenes from S9 and 10, for the Morpheus one. *hearts*

And yeah, Daniel's notebooks always contain just the thing they need...
Seriously. They should have someone just following up on everything he's ever noted down. Secrets to the galaxy buried in there.
You should watch the missing scenes for this episode (they may be in the last dvd disk...I'd have to check the British set up).
And I'm using the Daniel and Sam icon because it is one of their bestest episodes evah! But yes, yes, yes to all of it.
I was going, why is that guy familiar? The first time I saw it, and I don't remember if someone told me but I think I finally went...wait, it's the WoO archeologist! Whoo hoo! Poor Red Team. At least one seemed to have survived.

Okay, I seriously want to read this fanfic.
(Maybe that's why Jonas kept reading Dr. Jackson's notes all the time!)
Oh, I'll have a look for the missing scenes, ta.
You should wriiiiiiite eeeeeeeeeet.
What lizard?? I don't remember one
Just as, last night, I watched Sanctuary (and if anyone doesn't want to know who actors are, turn away now) and I was surprised to see that Tanith from SG1 had turned up as a pretty interesting one of The Five in Sanctuary.

And, hah! Thank you! I was trying to remember who the guy in Sanctuary was - I knew it was someone in Stargate. Tanith! Of course. *g*
He is in late season 3, The Endangered, that's the one that Mac goes back to the woods and his former girlfriend who's now a ranger only to find she has moved on and then he gets embroiled with poachers. One of those villains was Robin Mossley and another one was Don S. Davis!
Then in season 5 he is in several episodes. First in the first part of Legend of the Holy Rose (I think maybe just as Mac's houseboat neighbor, but haven't looked at it again to be sure). Then he played a grinchy street Santa Claus in The Madonna. Then he was in Lost Amadeus (along with the actress who is in both Thor's Hammer and the other Thor ep of SG1)/ And he was in both the westerns--one was s. 5, Serenity, the other s. 6, MacGyver's Women, both times as Wilt Bozer.
Garwin Sandford who plays Narim in SG1 is also in at least 2 MacGyvers as a villain.
And yes, I know that is probably far more than you wanted to know, but when I get started....what can I say?
