I was having fun looking at
surreallis 's cupboards, so I thought I'd share mine.
My food cupboard. At the previous place, we had a HUGE pantry. We've not yet managed to adjust to having just this little space, as you can see. And it's a strange mix of proper cooking ingredients and ready meal sort of stuff.

My fridge. I don't tend to keep fruit and veg in here, unless I really have to. Nor eggs. Eggs shouldn't go in a fridge! Also, I have insane amounts of sauces. But they're mostly A's.

In fairness to myself, I do also have a veg rack. I just didn't photograph it, because it looks boring. At the moment, it's mostly pears.

Okay, first, how odd that you call ketchup a 'sauce' and yet... yes. That IS what it is.
Also, 'posh stuffing'. Haaaa! :D
Also, if your homemade salsa is that good it's perhaps a good idea to post the recipe? :P
Heh - well, it's totally posh. One is roasted hazelnut and red onion flavour, and the other is "country garden", and they look like they have real foodstuffs in them, and not the usual sawdust and herbs that you get in most stuffing.
They'll probably taste like sawdust and herbs, of course...
Hee. The salsa is A's - he says he'll give me the recipe.
Uh, eggs shouldn't go in the fridge? I did not know that. I do know that they're good for a very, very long time - at least in the fridge, but I didn't know that they didn't require refrigeration.
I think virtually everyone in the US refrigerates them. I want to know more about that! Do tell!
We used to keep chickens when I was a kid, see, and my parents were vehemently against battery farming, refrigerated eggs, or eggs that had been kept for any length of time. :)
Hmmm...Now I'm trying to think about what actually needs to be in the fridge and what's just habit.
Mind you, I probably put a load of things in the fridge that don't really need to be there. And I'm UNBELIEVABLY picky about fruit. :)
(And this is all just what I've been brought up to believe, so YMMV.)
And *snicker*...when Paul was living with me I actually hid my yogurt (the low-cal stuff) down in the veggie drawers (behind the veggies, of course) because he never looks in there, and indeed just sort of even forgets there *are* drawers down there.
I had to hide them, of course, because once he was finished with his own yogurt he'd just move on to mine. And then I - who only used to eat like, one or two a week at most - would come home to try and pack my lunch and have none available. So...the hiding. T'was fun. And it's funny to see that you also overlook those drawers. *g*
I don't know half of what I have in the cupboard - it's in such an awkward position, near the floor, that I can't see into it, and the light doesn't reach it. Some of it is oats, though - I do know that...
Oh, and I checked, after posting that pic, and it turns out it is artichokes. *g*
*looks oddly at the dehydrated potato*
Yay picspams!
The dehydrated potato is lazy but useful - it rehydrates into mashed potatoes. My parents would be appalled. A introduced me to it, and I find it guiltily useful. *g*
(See how I handily blame all bad foodstuffs on A? *g*)
