Or perhaps, au revoir...

We waved little Sidney off into the big, wide world, the night before last. He chirruped loudly at us, as if to say ‘Thanks, you KIDNAPPING SCUMBAGS!’, and then pottered around the garden for about ten minutes before disappearing into the hedge, natch. Ah, it seems like only yesterday that he was just a tiny handful of sleeping hedgehog... wait, it was two days ago. Okay then.

What next, Oxford? I’m hoping balloon rides, or a puppy.

Yes, I think Sidney was none too grateful about being rescued. *g*

And oh, cool - I'm sure it'll turn up sometime, it's just managed to get into a box NOT labelled "books".

So, what you're saying, is that boxes labeled "books" get unpacked first, and that boxes that had various theoretically important things that Had To Be Left Out in them get unpacked whenever you need to find something else that isn't with anything else.

:-)

I also just read "Swallows and Amazons," although I'm not sure if that was on your rec or not, but it was a very charming book. I quite enjoyed it.

...Something like that. *g* It's one way of packing. Admittedly not the most efficient.

And, ooh - I've no idea if I recommended Swallows and Amazons, but if not, I certainly would. I always wanted to be Nancy (who used to be Ruth, but changed her name because pirates are ruthless, w00t!). There's a whole series, and I found them deeply involving. Now I want to re-read them!

I'm reading Rough Crossings (the first book on my To Be Read list). It's brilliant. I keep meaning to post something about it for IBARW - although I've not finished it, but it's very appropriate.

Nancy is AWESOME. I kept cracking up over things--where the line between reality and make-believe blurred, mostly--and then trying and failing to explain the awesome to the people who were in the same room (both of whom were reading the last Twilight novel).

I actually had the book, hadn't read it, hadn't read it...and then it was suddenly due, with no renewals, and I finished it in less than 24 hours. Deadlines, people. They work.

I'd be very interested in your thoughts on Rough Crossings, for IBARW, or after.
