He’s fiiiiine! Apparently he just didn’t want to get up when we wanted him to get up – maybe because we were around and scaring him (hah – if gentle snoring is a sign of hedgehog terror), or maybe just because 10:30pm was the equivalent of very early morning for him, and he didn’t see why he needed to get up. But anyhow, when we came down this morning, he was curled up in an innocent little ball of spikes, as if he’d not moved – but the newspaper we’d put in with him was torn, and he’d drunk some water and eaten ALL his scrambled eggs (awwww!). Now we know he’s eating and drinking and moving around (and being rather stinky), we’re happy to send him back out. And it's been raining a lot, so there should be a ton of worms and slugs out there for him to eat.
Hedgehog snoring is possibly the cutest thing I’ve ever heard, btw.

Totally adorable, that.
So. very. cute.
They do smell a bit though, and they have fleas that our cats catch, and they are hard to see in the dark so I've accidentally kicked one in the past, coming down the garden path, and they make an absolute racket at night when it's mating season.
But still! TIGGYWINKLE!!!
*ahem*
I found one once on a beach in Wales, all clogged with sand. :( Very odd. I put it in the nearby forest and hoped it was ok. Bless you for rescuing him (and cooking him scrambled eggs, hee!) How cute is it that you rang the RSPCA back like worried parents?
DAMMIT, WOMAN, STOP TEMPTING ME!
Because I'm pretty sure that's one animal my roommate isn't allergic to...So so so cute!
Glad he's doing well under your care!
And I love the name Sidney. I name the neighborhood wildlife too.
