Yes, "Heroes" is one of the all-time best, although I usually refuse to pick a favorite. I love it for the reasons you list!
I've had to wait for answers weeks after interviews, so I do know what it's like. Hope it doesn't drag on much longer!

In fact, I waited darned near two months after the interview I had for my current job. I had basically given up before I got the offer. (In fact, they offered the job to someone else first, but that person declined. It doesn't matter how I got it, just that I got it!)
