Mediaeval Baebes. They were really good. I'm trying to think of something more interesting to say about it, but my head aches and I'm tired and my hair smells of smoke because I woke up too late to wash it this morning, and I need to proof-read a 24-page document as a matter of urgency, and it uses phrases like "due diligence", "value-add experience", and "synergetic operational opportunities". I need an English-to-Management-Bollox dictionary. It's going to mention 'blue sky thinking' any moment, I just know it.
Who comes up with this stuff? I hope they die horribly.
edit: And now I've spent 10 minutes wrestling with the photocopier / printer, which has decided it's never going to print anything ever again. The paper I've been pulling out from the inner workings of the damn thing have been slightly singed, which can't be a good sign. It is Not. My. Day.
So not in the mood for all this.
Sadly, I think if I wrote wish-fulfilment fic right now, it'd be Jack setting fire to all his paperwork.
edit 2: The photocopier engineer better not be planning on patronising me, as per usual. I know how to fix paper jams, I know how to load staples, I know how to change toner, I know not to yank the paper out and leave little torn bits still in the machine... it's not fucking rocket science, and I hear PMT has been upheld in court as an extenuating circumstance.
Grrr. If he does, I'll probably... well, I'll probably stare at him and try to make his brain explode with the power of my mind. It hasn't worked yet, but I figure it's just a matter of time and practice.
edit 3: And my filling broke. It's only a small break and not painful (I had root canal on that tooth a couple of years ago, so there's no nerve there), but it's annoying, and just before Christmas... joy.
Boy I'm in a grump today.
edit 4: I'm cheering myself up by finding nice cartoons! Mainly J/D-centric, but there's a few J/S shippy ones, too - my favourite is the very last one on page one, "Play that shippy music!"
edit 5: I have hot chocolate, the engineer has been gone and fixed, politely and without discussion, and I'm nearly done with the proof-reading. Plus, I'm going home in an hour to food, baths and Stargate DVDs, my boss is on holiday from next week until the New Year, and life has improved dramatically overall since this morning.
I'll be more interesting tomorrow, I promise.
So last night I went to see the Who comes up with this stuff? I hope they die horribly.
