Davis would have been awesome! The odds seem high, though, that the actor has other work that would prevent him from taking the job.

The thing is... I really like Picardo. I think Woolsey is problematic, though. In a lot of ways.

But I've made the point elsewhere that there was a big negative outcry against Rodney, who was highly disliked by SG-1 fans, when it was discovered he'd been put on SGA. (I recall being one of the few people saying that it was a brilliant move on the show's part.) When you take a character from an occasional guest spot to a regular status, the opportunity is there to give the char more nuance and so on. The actor, too, needs to find more to play in the char when he's doing it full-time.

So hopefully, the Woolsey who's in charge of Atlantis won't be quite the same guy as the one we've seen.

Still seems like a weird-ass decision, though.
