I'm pushing that ficlet down the page, so it doesn't sit there at the top all weekend. What can I post?
Blood donors. I'm going tonight - regularly go (when I remember). I'm not squeamish, and my dad's always gone... but the real reason I go is because I used to adore Robin Hood, when I was a kid, and it reminded me of Robin's death. See, he was betrayed by his Evil Cousin the Nun... I can't remember the exact details, but Robin is getting old, and feeling ill, so he goes to see Evil Cousin the Nun, who tells him he needs to have some blood drawn. So he lets her cut a hole in his arm, tie it so it'll bleed, and he lays on a couch with his arm over a bucket, and dozes off...
Meanwhile, Little John has somehow found out that the Evil Cousin is out to kill Robin. He battles his way into the abbey (fighting nuns all the way, presumably), and finds his way to Robin, who's too far gone by now, and on the brink of death. Sobbing, Little John holds Robin in his arms, and the outlaw leader weakly asks for his bow. With his dying breath, Robin looks out of the window, draws back the bow...
...and shoots the Sheriff of Nottingham again!
Okay, ignore that last part. But anyhow.
Interestingly (to me), a friend of my mum was doing her PhD on blood donation - why people did it, etc. All these vampire fans... I wonder if my mum ever told her about my reason.

I love that it embarasses you enough to have it there staring at you, but you put it there in the first place. *g*
And ooh....that icon shot. From the episode w/ Hailey and the glowing bugs? When he's all, "actually, it's a P90"? I love his parts of that ep.

Prodigy, yes. He's so funneee... It looks like he's just having fun, the whole time - it's kind of joyous to watch. LOL at the scene with him getting in a total fluster at General Ryan. Ryan: "Thus far we like your work." O'Neill: "Thank you, sir. I like yours. Your Air Force. The Air Force. I *love* the Air Force." And arguing with the scientist. And being Carter's welcoming committee. And connecting with the youngest person there. Hailey: "That is so cool!" O'Neill: "That's exactly what I said - I said that." And and and being shot with the zat, and being all dizzy. Teal'c: "Good luck, O'Neill." O'Neill: "Wish me luck!" And being all cool and self-sacrificing underneath it all.
::sigh::
And the bugs are cool, too. Such a fun idea - and nice that they left it enigmatic, too.
lol.
And I lmao every time at his delivery of "Two!" after Teal'c shoots him when he was counting down. Heh.
And for some reason I love when he comes running out of the building, too, when the the scientist comes running back screaming his name. It's like...instant readiness for action, to step in and do the protecting, but he doesn't know what the threat is, yet. Just...love it.
*pounces on O'Neill*
