Some of these answers will mean nothing to a large number of my flist. You are missing out, I tell you.

Back in the Day: 5 TV Shows You Loved As A Kid

1. Robin of Sherwood
2. The A-Team
3. Knightrider
4. Educating Marmalade
5. The Muppet Show

Who Would You Do?: 5 TV Characters You Would...Well, It's Self-Explanatory

1. Jack O'Neill
2. Teal'c
3. Spike, from BtVS

5. The tenth Doctor

What? No, No, I Don't Watch That...: 5 Guilty Pleasure TV Shows

1. Hustle (oh, the pretty, pretty people...)
2. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (I found a Stargate crossover fic once! They fixed up Jack! It was such a thrill.)
3. I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! (Only when A puts it on, though, and only until my limited tolerance gives out. I didn't watch the last series, because they were all utterly unbearable.)
4. Neighbours (just for a while, when I was at college. It was so soothing.)
5. Casualty (again, not since I was in college, but my housemate and I agreed that there's something weirdly attractive about Charlie.)

Wow: 5 TV Moments You Still Remember (And Probably Won't Forget)

1. The death of Robin Hood. It broke my ickle seven-year-old heart.
2. Tiny little Dudley Moore being menaced by Animal on the Muppet Show.
3. The fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) dying, and regenerating into the sixth (Colin Baker).
4. Bernard's face of absolute joy when Manny not only agrees to do his accounts (with which he's been struggling for the whole episode), but also to get him a glass of wine, and a ham sandwich... and a pickle! - Black Books.
5. The kiss at the end of Persuasion (the 1995 version).

"Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs": 5 TV Theme Songs You Know (and Love) By Heart

1. The A-Team
2. Stargate (although I have trouble remembering the words)
3. M.A.S.H.
4. Sherlock Holmes (the one with Jeremy Brett)
5. Robin of Sherwood

Eh: 5 Shows You Just Can't Get Into

1. Heroes. Meh.
2. Angel. Even when Spike is there.
3. Torchwood. No, not even Jack Harkness has the power to keep me interested.
4. Stargate Atlantis (I'm seeing an 'I can't get into spinoffs' pattern here...)
5. Anything involving judges and the general public making an idiot of itself.

The Starting Line-Up: 5 Channels You Go To First When You Sit Down to Watch TV

1. BBC1
2. BBC2
3. BBC4
4. Film4
5. ITV3

This Is An Environment of Welcoming, and You Should Just Get the Hell Out Of Here: 5 TV Characters You Could Do Without

1. Mickey in Doctor Who (except in the last episode, when he unexpectedly rocked.)
2. Servalan's godawful caveman lover, in Blake's Seven. (I like to think she had him terminated.)
3. Robert of Huntingdon (Robin of Sherwood #1's replacement. Some things I can't forgive.)
4. Murdoch, in Macgyver (he's a master of disguise? Really?)
5. Laira (I know, I know. I never claimed to be reasonable.)

That's What She Said: 5 Quotes That Still Resonate

1. "You set us up. You’re in on this with Lucas Henry. This was a trap for Mulder because he helped put you away. Well, I came here to tell you that if he dies because of what you’ve done, four days from now, no one will be able to stop me from being the one that will throw the switch and gas you out of this life for good, you son of a bitch!" – Dana Scully, with increasing volume.

2. Wooster (helpfully): "Well, have you tried pulling the plug?"
Jeeves: "It was amongst the first things I tried, sir."
- Jeeves and Wooster, discussing a bath in which the water won't go down.

3. Jack: "Okay…put yourself in my shoes and me in yours."
Daniel: "You'd be here for me."
Jack: "Damn straight! I'd have busted you out, blown this rat hole to hell and made sure that son-of-a-bitch suffered!"
Daniel:"The Others would have stopped you."
Jack: "They'd have a hell of a fight on their hands."
Daniel: "You wouldn't do that."
Jack: "Ba'al would be dead…"
Daniel: "Jack…"
Jack: "…And don't think I'd stop there."
Daniel: "You're a better man than that."
Jack: "That's where you're wrong!"

4. "Nothing's forgotten. Nothing is ever forgotten." – Robin of Sherwood, at various times – sometimes a threat, sometimes a promise.

5. Bernard: "What time is it?"
Manny: "Half-ten."
Bernard (grabbing his collar): "Half-ten? HALF-TEN?! I've never been up at half-ten before! What happens?" – Bernard, demonstrating his reason for owning his own business, in Black Books.

Gimme More: 5 Shows You Can Never Get Enough Of

1. Stargate (duh)
2. Black Books (words cannot express how much I loved that show)
3. The Muppet Show (or at least the original one – I didn't care for the newer one)
4. Futurama ("Good news, everybody!")
5. The Magnificent Seven (srsly, I could just watch them sitting around and bitching at one another, I'd be happy)

Waaaaa!: 5 Shows You Still Mourn Losing Prematurely

1. Robin of Sherwood! Waaah, Michael Praed – why did you have to go off to LA to become Prince Michael of Moldavia in Dynasty? Why?!?
2. Black Books
3. The Magnificent Seven
4. Stargate (ten seasons, pah.)
5. My Enemy Next Door (a show for which I saw a pilot, but it never got picked up. It involved a Good Guy spy, who'd retired to live in the suburbs, and his Arch Nemesis retired and moved next door. It was exactly as delightfully cracked as that sounds.)

Headdesk!: 5 Shows You Wish They'd Killed (or at least ended) While They Were Still Good

1. X-Files (doesn't everyone?)
2. Red Dwarf
3. Robin of Sherwood (it was just adding insult to injury, carrying on after the first Robin died. I mentioned that I was seven when this happened, right? So don't expect me to be reasonable about it.)
Um... I'd say Friends and Cheers for the last two, but to be honest, I didn't care that much about them anyway. I can't think of any others.

Haha I totally remember reading that Queer Eye fic where they fix up Jack. Never watched that show, but the fic was entertaining.

I think they got the guys down perfectly - it was funny, because I got into both shows at about the same time, so I did idly think, "I bet Jack would hate this..." *g*

I MUST KNOW.

Also, I must see this Wooster and Jeeves show. My boyfriend was talking about it, and it sounds awesome.

And do you recommend getting into Red Dwarf?

Queer Eye - the Jack O'Neill Edition, by Aeryn (Sam/Jack, rated Older Kids)
- Part One (http://www.gateworld.net/fanfic/archive/12/queereye.html)
- Part Two (http://www.gateworld.net/fanfic/archive/12/queereye2.html)
- Part Three (http://www.gateworld.net/fanfic/archive/12/queereye3.html)

Jeeves & Wooster is fantastic. Red Dwarf... Well, I don't know if I'd recommend it. I love it partly for nostalgia, but it might be a bit dated now. The best seasons are apparently 3 - 6. I had a quick scan on YouTube, and the best example of an episode I could find was this -
- Part One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rQhhFL5Fkk&feature=related)
- Part Two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=argmkQJk1uM&feature=related)
- Part Three (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOW9kwQ7uNU&feature=related)

If you like that, it's what Red Dwarf does best - scruffy, funny imitations of classic scifi cliches. The characters are Lister (last surviving human due to being cryogenically frozen on a spaceship for millions of years), Rimmer (a hologram of his now-deceased supervisor), Cat (an evolved cat), and Kryten (a robot). Oh, and Holly, the ship's computer. Red Dwarf is the name of the spaceship.

Oh, man. Poor Jack! But so necessary!

All I have to say about Red Dwarf is this:

Liberation and
Integration of
Terrifying
Organisms and their
Rehabilitation
Into
Society

Give Quiche A Chance.

That's the Dwarf. If you liked that, you'll probably like the rest. The sfx are done on a budget of 10p, the humour is crass, the characters are stupid, unhygenic, and completely irredeemable... and it's a lot of fun. :) My favourite is Cat. He evolved from cats, and in the first season we see him going around spraying everything on the ship with a bottle of aftershave. "That's mine... That's mine... That's mine..."

And yeah, Jack would hate it, but how I wish the Fab Four would come and forcibly remove the baggy jeans and orange sweaters from his wardrobe. *g*

Oh this was a trip down memory lane!!!

'Robin, the hooded man.' God I so loved Michael Praed!! Hated Jason Connery!

Seriously they should have ended the series there when Michael up and left for that dorky show in the States.

I have never forgiven them for messing with series, never.

But you will not like, I fear. Iz Sam/Jack. Although that's mostly just at the end. :)

They SO should. I couldn't bear to watch the series with Jason Connery, but I have heard he's not very good. I never forgave them, either. Heh.

I nearly met Michael Praed once. I was working at a casting studio, and he was due to come in for a casting. I was in a total state - the same as I would be if RDA happened to be coming to my work today. Then he never turned up. Probably a good thing all round; he was my first crush, and that's... just too precious a memory for me. You know? :)

*gets all nostalgic and teary eyed*

Also, Black Books should be compulsory viewing for everybody!

Heh, you too? *g* (It was so good! Aside from some of the haircuts. But the costumes, the sets, the grubby authenticity - the Sheriff! One of my all-time favourite villains. "It's a wedding, Gisburne, not a celebration!")

I have a campaign going to get everyone watching Black Books. As far as I can tell, it's not doing that well - but I persist. I'm working on [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa at the moment, as she's actually opening a bookshop (which is an awesome thing to do).
