Happy Hallowe'en, everyone

  • Oct. 31st, 2007 at 2:53 PM
pepper: Pepperpot (Pirate flag)

Entirely appropriately, we apparently had a bat flying around our garden yesterday evening, for about half an hour, squeaking joyfully - no doubt feasting on all the insects that tend to nest in our tree. I hope he comes back this weekend, as I won't be around at the right sort of time (sunset) to see him during the week.

My Hallowe'en plans consist of:

- French Onion soup with cheesy garlic bread
- Sponge cake with fruit and cream, possibly with the sponge soaked in some sort of orange/Kirsch mix, I haven't decided yet
- One of the following films/TV shows from our collection: House, Evil Dead 3, Bubba Ho-Tep, From Dusk 'Til Dawn, Buffy (the episode with the teeny-tiny fear demon), Nightmare Before Christmas, Doctor Who: The Hand of Fear... or some other options that I've forgotten offhand.

*feels cosy*

ETA: Oh... crap.

Official NaNoWriMo 2007 Participant

I didn't mean to do that. It just sort of... happened. I'm known as pepper_field over there.

*feels less cosy*

Dooooomed! You're DOOMED! But so am I, so we can be doomed and complain together. :) I'm annerbhp on yahoo, by the way, if you ever want to IM and moan about NaNo.

We can do it!!

I'm so dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed.

Ta! I may well do that. I'm, er... *tries to remember*... oh yes: PeppFld.

NaNo author search appears to be currently disabled, which is a relief to me, because I wondered if I was being completely dim about finding people to add as writing buddies.

Except, of course, on Yahoo I'm pepper_f_21, not PeppFld, which is my AIM name.

I'm so doomed. My brain is fried already, and I haven't even started.

Yeah, Nano does that... it just kinda sneaks up on you and bam! But I learned from last year. I didn't let it sneak up on me this time around. It tried, oh how it tried, but I'm taking my original fic writing at my own pace this year! My November is hectic enough without it.

*is jealous* I wish I could have brought my Buffy Season 4 & Nightmare Before Christmas DVD's... Oh well, maybe I'll just put on the Nightmare soundtrack while I pathetically do my Genetics problem set.

Aw! *pats you* That sounds very sad! I hope you have more of a fun evening than that. Although, studying, very good and useful. *nods*

NaNo has been lurking in my brain, but I really had decided I couldn't do it, for various very good reasons. I don't know what possessed me.

Uh-huh. :D Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah. I said that a couple of weeks ago myself... *guilty grin*

It seems like there are a lot of people out there who are serious about writing a novel, me included. And yeah, I'm more than a little worried, considering I am facing a major dose of writer's block (a few months now). :) But I am determined to persevere, and I know that you will come out a success. We all will.

And I've added you to my friends list here at LJ. Do you mind if I buddy you at NaNo? I'm known as smichy over there. I figured if I'm writing original fic, I should use an original fic pen name. I wish now that I had come up with a better handle...

Oh, yes, friend away, please do. *friends you back* I like your positive attitude. I could do with some of that, right now. :D

Yes, it's very appropriate. It has been stalking me like a serial killer for the past few weeks. *g*

I'm dooooooooooooooomed as well!! I'm know as Cancer in Nano. If you want to be a writer buddy that's a-ok with me.

I'm on AIM as well (jack4daniel) if you want to moan about Nano anytime :)

Ooh, excellent. I'm waiting for them to reopen the author search function on NaNo - last time I looked, it wasn't there - will add you!

My AIM name as above... but you'd got that, right? *g*

I was nowhere *near* brave enough for that... I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo... kinda easing myself in... I might sign up next year.

I think "stupid" is possibly the more appropriate word, here, rather than "brave". *g*

So, so doomed. Although, yay, there are write-ins near where I work! I can meet up with people and sit in a cafe and write like a lunatic. It sounds all very exciting.

I am SO not brave enough for Nano. Hope it treats you well (you crazy person you!)

(also, your soup sounds REALLY yummy)

The soup was looooooovely. French onion and cider soup. It was supposed to be white wine but we didn't have any, but I think cider was probably even nicer.

I still can't believe I've joined NaNo. I'm not even sure what I'm going to write! Insanity.

Eeep! YAY! *hugs*

I think--if you log in, you can give the direct link to your profile--that's how I found others when the search tool was down, although I can't currently access the site, so...*shrugs*

You know my aim! I'm on lots! On yahoo, I'm spectra37.

:-)

(Also, my Halloween plans include sleep, since I'm coming down with something. Sigh.)

Aw - what a time to come down with something. :( Hope it passes quickly.

NaNo is slow this evening (for obvious reasons), but I'm adding people now - those who I can find through connections to other people. Just added you. :D
