Mmm, cherry.

pepper: Pepperpot (Wake Me When It's Over)
Wow. I do love the flavours of American cold remedies better than UK ones (why do we not have apple & cinnamon in the UK? It's not fair), but they knock me out. Just taken a Theraflu strip, and I'm in a cherry-flavoured world of my own. Should've taken the non-drowsy with me, but I didn't think to check it, this morning. More prevention than cure – I've got that beginning-of-a-cold feeling, and if I catch it quickly, I might be able to mostly avoid it. Bloody commuting, though. And aircon. Bah. People are horrible germ-bags.

Apocafic plan has grown more complex again. Every time I think I've pruned it back to a sensible size, a size which will enable me to write the story I want to the (already belated) timescale, I start adding more stuff. I really want to get it perfect, though. Theoretically, it's only going to be around 5 - 6000 words long, which isn't all that much – so long as I stick to that plan. I think my soul bit is happier with Jenn, anyhow. It (almost) never gets to write smut with me.

I've very rudely not been replying to comments lately. Sorry 'bout that. I am reading them, and will start with the replying again soon - I'm just not altogether here, brain-wise, atm.

I was going to say something else, but I've forgotten what.

Crivens, I'd better go take the catering request down. Am going to be glared at.

I think my ears have gone funny. It's all quiet here.

*wanders off, dazedly*

I hope the cold medicine does its job and doesn't just make you fuzzy!

Apocafic seems good at that - like there's so much you have to build that it just gets too big for you. At least our soul bits look like they're having fun (though mine might rebel and start writing either Sam or Daniel smutz soon).

Good luck today!

I think it did its job, although I nearly fell asleep in a meeting, which was fun. 10 people sat around a table - it would have been noticeable if I started snoring. But if people will start talking in soft, soothing voices about learning and development opportunities, just after I've taken cold medicine...

And maybe we all gave up that little bit of our soul that is only interested in Jack smutz? They do seem to be cooperating nicely on it... even if their spelling is atrocious. :)

Are you serious? Apple and cinnamon? Why does no one tell me about all the ways it's cool to be American?

Here, have an Sam/Teal'c icon to make you feel better--how can you resist the smile? (They has captured my brains and I wants to write Unending fic for them).

Do you have lemon soda in the UK? Because here, you can get fizzy lemonade, but not actual lemon soda, which is much better, unless you're ridiculously obsessed like me, and even then they stop making it because apparently I alone am not enough to keep the lemon soda guys in business.

Sigh.

My apocafic is...interesting. And longer than what I normally write, which doesn't really mean anything, since I normally cap at about 2K. But our soul bits sure do look like they're having quite the party!

I'm not sure what you mean by lemon soda... is it the clear stuff that's more lightly flavoured than lemonade? We had that, briefly, a long time ago, and then it disappeared. I didn't like it at the time, 'cause I was a child with unsophisticated tastes, but I think I'd like it better now. Homemade lemonade FTW, though. Dead easy. Lemon juice, soda water, sugar. Mmm. We make that quite a lot.

And yes: Theraflu apple & cinnamon (the sort you mix with hot water). It's gorgeous. About the only cold rememdy of which I like the taste. It's funny, there's certain standard flavours in the US that you don't get so much in the UK, and vice versa. Apple & cinnamon is the one I'm most jealous of - I love it, but it's not a popular flavour for sweets and drinks here. Grape, too - we don't have much grape-flavoured stuff. Dark purple UK sweets tend to be blackcurrant flavour.

Sam and Teal'c are indeed lovely. Maybe I will put in that scene where Teal'c is comforting Sam, after all... Agh, the apocafic is growing again...

I love cherry flavour. It never tastes like real cherries, but I love it for its own sake. :) Same with banana flavour. Resemblance to bananas? Very little. Still tastes lovely.

I think that's why I can't stand lemon-flavour cold medicine - because I've had it too often in the past, and associate it with being ill. And it tastes horrible, of course.
