I reeeeally want to go home right now and watch a couple of Stargate episodes for my [profile] gateverse_remix. My brain keeps churning over ideas for the middle and end (yes, I am that far behind), but I need to watch a couple of things before I can pin down exactly what I want to write. Two specific episodes - and maybe a third if I have time. I suspect this story is going to be finished last minute, as ever. Well, it's always been my pattern, I guess. Damn this whole 'need to work to earn money to live' thing, though. It's very inconvenient. Well, as is my inability to knuckle down to a story unless I'm supposed to be doing something else. Eesh.

Oh, also I must finish off those icons for the comm, Abyssis! I promise I will, by the end of this week. And also buy a copy of the Stargate film (the original one, that is).

I want to get a cat. I can't, where I'm living, but I wish I could. When I move next year, it absolutely has to be somewhere I can have a cat. I miss having pets so much – since I left home I haven't lived anywhere that allowed me to own anything larger than a hamster, and although I loved my beautiful little Eugene very much, he wasn't exactly cuddleable. And I'd love to have a dog, too, what I could take for walks. A big(ish), scruffy dog.

Okay, that's today's random sample of my brain.

It was so strange not to have an animal around in the couple of months before I got Kaylee. I missed having something to come home to. We've always had cats and usually a dog. I pretty much universally love cats, but dogs I have to take dogs on an individual basis. All the dogs we've had have been some of the most annoying creatures on the planet. For instance my parents shitzu snuck past my dad when he went to take the trash out and I had to chase the damn thing around the neighborhood at 11:00 at night in my pajamas. Apparently someone's Yorkie who was wearing a t-shirt was out and started barking at Dotty, so Dotty chased the Yorkie around until she got it cornered and I was able to grab her. I thought for sure she was going to bit that poor dog. She's like a monster. She has a whole big back yard to run around in but all she ever does is sit on the patio, but open the front door and she's out like a bullet running around in the street like a maniac.

Yeah, I need to watch a couple of eps for my [livejournal.com profile] sjficathon fic, but all my dvds are packed up at the moment. I'm really bad about procrastinating. I can't tell you how many essays in college were written the night before. Oddly, I seemed to get the best grades on those. I've got ideas for my ficathon fics, but i haven't had a chance to work on them in earnest yet.

Ah, yeah, some dogs are a pain in the ass. Some cats, too. I like big, daft, friendly dogs best. But they take up too much space.

Heh, all my essays were like that, too. It works for me sometimes. Not the least stressful way to do it, though...
