Fandom exploded? Again? I didn't hear the three-minute warning. Oy. Fandom, you is funny.

Yes, I've checked my interests lists for things that'll get me hurled from the gates of lj (and felt mightily stupid/paranoiac about doing so), but I don't think biscuits, schmoop, and yoga are triggering. Unless they mean something else in the language of porn. *g* It's always possible. You should've seen how surprised I was when I found out what a fluffer is. I'm so tame it's depressing. I should write more PWP.

So. I'm feeling uncreative, these past few days – probably 'cause I've got a cold and feel like curling up on the sofa and sleeping all day (did that yesterday). I go through uncreative phases, though, and was thinking about putting together some kind of monitoring system. I could put down what I eat, how much and how well I sleep, what exercise I get, how much time I spend on the computer, how I feel, whether I write, how rushed I am at work...

...Or, y'know, I could not. I'm thinking 'not'. *is channelling Wolverine at the moment, and not puttin' up with that sorta navel-gazin' crap, bub*

Oh, is it sad that I find it slightly thrilling that I have an ID swipe card for work, much like the SGC?

Is this post going anywhere? I suspect not. Bear with me. I will write more fic soon.

Yeah, I can't say I'm feeling much fear about this one. Perhaps because it's come so close on the heels of the last big kaboom. Give me a couple of months between apocalypses (apocalypsi? What's the plural?), and maybe I can work up the energy to start crying 'wolf'.

/cynicism.

There does seem to be a bit of post-ficathon ennui going around, doesn't there? Or maybe a lot of people are post-exam, at the mo, and the feeling is catching. I feel like I need some sunshine. Or a shot of adrenaline. Or something.

*decides now would be a good time to break out the Edward Gorey child death icons*

Exactly. I just figure we'll adjust (or not as need be) and go on more or less as normal. I'll avoid fanlib (wouldn't have been interested anyway) and I don't really write porn, and I'm definitely not interested in it between siblings or underagers (um, unless you use the crazy people's theory that Sam and Daniel are siblings) and generally won't read non-con either. So. Meh.

I just don't believe this is the end of fandom as we know it - I am a bit curious to here LJ's side of things (it appears the TOS implies they can't just suspend journals willy-nilly, but I'm unsure).

Definitely post-ficathon ennui. I know the month of May usually gets me down in general - but that's a personal thing. We'll get adrenaline soon enough I'm sure.

Yeah, I wouldn't have been interested in FanLib, either. My only concern with that is that they're trying to make a profit from copyrighted work, and that's about the one thing that'll actually prompt legal action re. fanfic. But hopefully FanLib will die a quick and painless death due to lack of fans being willing to risk it.

Is it crappy weather where you are? That's one of the things that's getting me down. Endless rain here. But soon it'll be summer, and there will be sunshine, lj will (I presume) slow down immensely as all the college kids vanish, and we can all sip virtual cocktails by the virtual pool and write lazy, happy fanfic. :)

Make mine a Long Beach Iced Tea (white rum, vodka, gin, Cointreau, tequila, and cranberry juice). Mmm.

Yeah. I'm...I just for some reason can't worry about the Fanlib thing, even though I see reasons (like what you said) that I should. Honestly, I think Fanlib is going to just die out from mis-management and nothing much splodey will come of it. But I could be wrong.

No...May usually isn't too crappy (except for the part where it's too damn hot right now and I hate hot weather) weather-wise - we're actually having a huge drought right now. I've just...May seems to be a month where a lot of random bad things happen (not this year, but other years) and I tend to be suspicious of it - every relative I've ever had die suddenly has done so in May, etc. It's weird.

Yay virtual fanfic ppol with virtual cocktails! *wanders off to find the margaritas*

Erk. Yes, I can understand that sort of suspicion. Sometimes it seems like there's times you want to just fast forward through. We're nearly out of May, though - hopefully it'll pass without incident. :)

*breaks out virtual waterwings, and dive-bombs the pool, splashing everyone within a 10-foot radius*

Looks good - after the last two Mays, I'm definitely appreciating the incident-free one (actually May has been unusually good this year).

*throws beach ball*
(okay, now I'm thinking how awesome it would be if we could get all of fandom together at a Caribbean beach sometime and actually have pool parties and cocktails)

Hee. Oh yes. *dreams* But only the not-mad fans.

Or, that is, only those fans that are mad in a nice way. *g*

*ties weights to the beagles and drops them in the pool*

No. No beagles. Also no weepy Sam who stays for no perceptible reason with evil!Pete / evil!Joe / some random asshat guy who wants her to resign her commission until Jack comes and takes her into his strong arms and tells her to stop this nonsense, dammit, because he won't watch her marry another man, and then kisses her, so she drops other man immediately and shacks up with Jack and resigns her commission.

(I read some badfic yesterday - can you tell?)

*blink*
Right. None of that!

Also no Daniel's who get paper cuts and end up in the infirmary fighting pneumonia, but only after Teal'c had to fireman's carry him there kicking and screaming and Jack won't visit because he is OMG afraid of needles but at least Daniel's bed has a golden plaque with his name on it and all the nurses fight over giving him a spongebath while Sam kicks all the cooks out of the commissary to make Daniel Magic Healing Cookies.

Fair enough. We can ban that, too. *g*

I may have overreacted a little, there. I shouldn't read that stuff, I know, but I was bored, and a bit aimless...
