It had to happen sometime. Animation lesson yesterday went a little pear-shaped. I managed to do... something... which meant the figure I'd spent the last 45 minutes designing ceased to exist. Except I could still see it. But I couldn't alter it or select it or do anything other than click repeatedly on it and growl, "Why? Why is there no object selected? It's RIGHT THERE! I'm SELECTING IT NOW!"
Whatever I did, I did it so thoroughly that even the tutor couldn't fix it. Sigh. At least when I screw up, I really screw up. *g*
(It was no great loss to Art, but it's annoying because we're supposed to use the thing we made this week in next week's lesson. I may try and recreate it at home – hopefully without pressing the Look-But-Don't-Touch button, this time. I wish I could figure out what I did, so I'd know what to avoid next time.)
And in other random caps, I HAVE HAD A PROPER IDEA FOR MY SDFICATHON STORY. *hugs idea tightly*. All other ideas seemed to die a death at round about the 500 word mark (I've easily got a thousand words plus of half-baked ideas, but I suspect someone might object if I submitted that *g). I'm going to get it done. I know I am. *checks new deadline nervously* Yeah. I can do it.
I want to post something creative. It feels like it's been a while. Okay, there have been fic snippets, but nothing... nothing big that I've come up with the idea, worked on over some time, finished, polished, sent to a beta, re-edited... all that stuff. I miss the perspiration part of writing - it's all been fleeting inspiration stuff of late.
I'm going to go get some breakfast. Anyone want a cuppa?
edit: Oh! I forgot to say, I got my MacGyver season 4 yesterday (at last). Reactions so far: I don't like what they've done with the theme tune, it's funny (but slightly sad) to watch him with Terri Hatcher, and I don't think the kid they got to play Young MacGyver looked much like him. And I think RDA would have made a good theatre actor (except for the not-memorising-his-lines thing) - he comes across as really exaggerated on camera, sometimes. Uses his whole body to express himself. Emotions writ large on his face.

Yeah, now that I'm home from my interview and it's no longer hanging over my head, hopefully I can sit down and churn something out. Both of my longer SG-1 stories got written in about 2 days, so I'm not panicking. Yet.
They totally look like they're about to kiss. "We can't pick up mugs, but we're not falling through the floor... We must experiment with the peculiarities of touch in this out-of-phase universe." ;) I loved the snarky little shrug they exchanged in that episode. Adorable.
Best excuse to kiss ever! I'm still so mad at the show for not giving us a kiss of an AU where they're together or something. *sigh*

And, yeah, logically I think they should have had a Sam/Daniel AU, or some such (Sam/Teal'c? Sam/Janet? Someone other than Sam in a relationship?) - but emotionally I'm still clinging to my Sam/Jack. I'm hopeless, I know. *g*
I know. I think I'm almost as hopeless with Sam/Daniel. Which is why I wish just once it had been semi-requited (I jumped up and down at his question in "Fallen")
But you're right - I definitely would have loved an AU that wasn't about Sam's love life. Define it by something else!
Sam2 looked at her, frowning. "What are you talking about? O'Neill? Jonathan O'Neill?"
Sam put her hands over her eyes. "Just tell me now and get it over with," she growled, refusing to look at the others sat around the briefing room table.
Sam2 looked down at the table and smiled enigmatically. "I don't know why you'd think I was with Jonathan," she said, bemusedly. "He and Teal'c are the perfect couple. They're so adorable together."
Teal'c and Jack scooted their chairs just that little bit away from one another. When Sam peeped out from behind her hands, she could see that Daniel was looking distinctly smug. "The Colonel and... Teal'c?" Jack grimaced, refusing to meet her eyes. "But who...?" She looked at Daniel. As did Sam2.
"We were good together, Daniel," said Sam2, slightly wistfully. "But ultimately - no. You're very happy with Jonas, though."
Daniel lost his smirk.
"But who...?" repeated Sam, fearing the worst. Please, god - not Felger.
"I'm not with anyone," shrugged Sam2. "I'm a happy, fulfilled woman in my own right. I love my job, I love my friends, and I have the most fantastic life. Why should I have to be with a man - or a woman, for that matter - in order to feel complete?" Sam - and the others - were staring at her, open-mouthed. "Don't tell me you hadn't worked that out yet?"
Sam swallowed, and closed her mouth. She shook her head, ashamedly.
Sam2 rolled her eyes. "And I thought we were supposed to be a genius."
