pepper: Pepperpot (Just give me time)
A fleeting post to say I survived (and very much enjoyed) the hen three-day-weekend in Brighton, would have liked it to have gone on for at least another couple of days (except for the being-away-from-lj thing. *craves lj*), I can now categorically state that I have seen a purple cow (several, in fact), and that you're all lovely people, with your deadline extensions, and your fic, and your student living experiences (ergh, Caladria), and your Sam meta, and your pretty pics of RDA in Pandora's Clock, and your requests for information about Jack in civvies (which idea distracted me for far too long), and... gods, my flist is long. I'm never going to manage to comment on all the stuff I want to comment on, but consider yourselves loved by me. *g*

And now I must work.

Why has season 4 of MacGyver gone missing on its way to me? Why? Is it to tell me to take advantage of the extra time given me to knuckle down and get my SD_ficathon story finished? Cruel. Very cruel.

Ah yes, I've heard about the festival. I'm a little sad I won't be around for it. The pictures from it look beautiful. Unfortunately, I'll be there in the end of summer through the fall, but I'm sure there will be plenty to do there then, too.

Thank you soooooooo much for the recommendations! I'm going to have to keep these all in mind (especially the bar... ^_^).

Ha Ha is actually part of a chain (there's branches all over the place), so it's not the most exciting place to go - I don't know Brighton well enough to recommend anywhere more interesting, although I saw loads of places. But the Laines are just... oh. Wonderful. I could have spent so much money, if I'd had more time (and, er, more money!).

Oh, and there's the more famous places to go, like the pier and the Pavillion. The pier is tacky but good fun - all fish & chips and ice cream and sticks of rock and noisy, cheap casinos, and some lovely rides (at least one great rollercoaster) on the very end. The beach isn't so fun for sunbathing etc, as it's all rocks, but it is lovely to look at and to walk along.

Oh dear. I just know I'm going to be tempted to blow the bank while I'm there and I can't... there are other places to go and other expenses to fund, not to mention there's a weight limit to luggage on planes ^^;;

Rollercoasters? Sweet. It's been far too long since I've been on one. And as for fish & chips, I'm looking forward to trying them at least once! I can pass on the casinos, though.

Well, by 'casino' I really mean... oh, I don't know what they're called. Places with video games and noise and kids hanging out. Not places I like in normal life, but enjoy passing through when on holiday.

Brighton is an excellent place to spend huge amount of money in fairly small increments, I warn you. Oh so tempting.

Arcades. That's what I meant (I go totally blank on words sometimes).

Watch out for the seagulls, they steal fish and chips right out of people's hands. Is very funny to see. *g*
