Seriously... in my more crackified moments when thinking of 'really cool things I could totally make if I had the money and the time' a fully operational (apart from the you know, wormhole to other planets) Stargate is at the top of my list.

Fibreglass and resin mould casting with an extensive paint job, an electric motor and some simple wiring for lighting and presto! The real trick would be getting close enough to the real thing so I could make it a proper replica
