I took last week off from running (except for a brief run on Saturday), because I just couldn't find the energy. I needed a break, no matter how close I was to reaching the end of the programme. I think it did me good. I got a stitch when I went running again on Tuesday, but yesterday, I managed a full 30 minutes. Yay! Now I just need to do it again tomorrow...
I'm not feeling at all bad about taking a break, because I needed it, and because I don't intend the end of the programme to be the end of my running. I'm not properly sticking with the C25K programme now, anyhow - weeks 8 and 9 are 28 and 30 minutes of running respectively, three times a week, and I'm not that keen on their music, or how regularly the... narrator? provides an update. So I'm just going with my own music, half an hour for three times a week. I plan to simply keep doing that. I've reached the point where I almost, sort of, kind of enjoy it. I certainly enjoy that I can do it, and I enjoy the improved circulation and the improved energy and stamina, and the (minor) weightloss.
And for my birthday, A got me the Nike doodad that you stick in your shoe and link to your iPod. It records things like distance and pace and whatnot - I think I need to recalibrate it to my short stride, though. It's very fun. It gives you an update every five minutes, you can press the centre button to get an update any time, it counts down every minute of the final five minutes of a timed workout - and I've not really explored the customisable options. There is the catch, of course, that you need Nike shoes and an iPod, so expense-wise I wouldn't recommend it unless you already happen to have both - which I did. The shoes were the ones I preferred, in the shop, before I had any thought of getting the doodad.
You can also programme it with a power song, for when you're reaching the end. I've chosen 'Defying Gravity', from Wicked. "So if you care to find me, look to the western sky / As someone told me lately, everyone deserves a chance to fly..."

Silly Kat managed to shut herself in the kitchen the other night. We'd closed one of the doors, and she pushed the other one shut and couldn't open it again. She must've been very bored, but there's nothing within her reach that is dangerous (she can't quite manage to jump up onto the counter, yet), so at least she was safe and couldn't do much damage.
I worry about her getting bored, though, and not doing enough exercise. I wish I could play with her as much as she wants me to. We just bought her a play tunnel, because she loves to stalk and ambush and chase. She's still in the OMG A SCARY NEW THING IN MY TERRITORY stage with it, but I'm sure she'll be tearing through it in no time.

Farscape! Just started season 2, and haha, yes, John is getting crazier. I see what you were all talking about. I like it.
I'm really trying hard not to spoiler myself, for once, and my patience is lasting so long as Amazon is speedy / I don't watch the whole season in one night. So, you know, be gentle with me. I already know a handful of facts, just from being around fandom.
It very much reminds me of Blake's 7, except more optimistic about human (or alien) nature. I mean, relatively more optimistic. It took me a few episodes to break through the Muppet Barrier, but I enjoyed it despite that - plus, farting helium is never not funny. I get thrown by the episodes where they're on a planet and everyone's wearing the same bright colour - something I've noticed Brian Henson does elsewhere - but then they flip and do a crazy, gritty episode where everything goes wrong. And they have explanations (translator microbes!) and consequences (John going crazy!) and evolving relationships (everyone!) and characters having sex without it becoming a happy ending, or a sad ending, or any kind of ending whatsoever ("How many times have we been close?" "...Just the once." "No, no no no. Not that kind of close."). And Aeryn kicks ass.
I have more thoughts, but I want to post this post already.
John is kind of halfway between Daniel and Sam, isn't he? At least in the first season. I don't see Cam and Vala when I watch this; John and Aeryn are utterly different.
No, no, I'm posting this now.

(Yay, fandom!)
Okay, I kinda want the Nike Doodad, but I don't have Nike shoes (they don't usually fit my weird feet) and I also don't run. *g*
And I don't think a flat is too small for even an active kitten. They tend to find ways to zoom really fast when they want/need to. And the stairs probably help, too.
Hee. Yes, it's a good excuse to buy a doodad, I was very pleased when it occurred to me that I had the right setup for it.
Yeah, this place should be big enough. She's been very lazy lately, though - she's mostly stalking and pouncing on her toys, rather than chasing around madly after them. She's a lot of work! *g*
