Another Mac ep review

Murdoc, does the phrase "over-elaborate" mean anything to you? I mean, the chair with built-in restraints, okay, I guess you have found it a little difficult in the past to get Mac to hold still while you kill him (I could make that "over-elaborate" point again), but the feast? Which neither of you ate? Murder doesn't have to be a catered affair, you know. I'm just sayin'.

And Mac, when the guy who has tried - several times! - to kill you in a variety of over-elaborate ways, shows up at your house with a hugely elaborate dinner table and chairs... do not actually sit down where he tells you to sit. I bet, after he was gone, you thought, "Ooh, that pie looks nice, maybe I'll try a piece...", and were only saved from death by Deadly Poisoned Peach Cobbler by the arrival of Pete (who is, by nature, a little more suspicious than you).

Mac is wounded, again - it seems to be a theme of this season. And amnesiac! They love their tropes, this show. Out of curiosity, I've started to go through my tropes list and check off the ones they've done, but I think that needs a separate post. I need to adjust the list to fit with this genre, and... ahem. Anyway.

Murdoc steals Mac's SAK! Nooooooooooooooooo! That was weirdly creepy - like Murdoc molested him, or something. And speaking of which, seeing Mac load shells into a shotgun was disconcerting, too - and then aiming it at someone, even Murdoc. I knew he wouldn't do it, but still. Brr.

Mac was wearing some sort of bracelet - looked like it had something written on it, but I'm not sure what. Anyone?

I'm starting to think that Murdoc is actually a Terminator. It explains a lot (not least that leather jacket). No way dropping him down a mineshaft is going to make a jot of difference. If I were Murdoc, I'd come after Mac again straight away, instead of waiting to be prompted by HIT, or whatever - Mac won't be expecting that. Just show up, a couple of weeks later, and shoot him in his sleep. Or even wake him up and then shoot him. It would be easy. I bet Mac doesn't even lock his door.

...I'm not sure what's up with my critiquing the methods used by the villains rather than the heroes. Hrm. I'm going to say it's because the villains are the instigators, and the heroes are mostly reactive. Yes, let's go with that. :)
