pepper: Pepperpot (Oxford)
I watered my strawberries recently, and a droplet of water splashed off of one flower, and landed on the petals, covered in pollen. And now I can photograph that to show you. OMG.
Photobucket

The plant itself is completely amazing, too. This is the centre of the flower - the stamen, and the... bit that'll become a strawberry. I just had to post this huge.
Photobucket

What I really want to do now is photograph every tiny thing. Everything. Isn't the world awesome?

ETA: Added another picture because I've been staring at it in awe.

Hee, ta. It's actually way cropped down, because although the camera can take photos this detailed, they need to be poster-size. Sort of macro-but-not.

I've spent too long on Photoshop - I keep wondering how the world has that good a resolution. Surely it should be pixellated at this level?! :D

These are amazing -- I'd be photographing everything, too. So much beauty.

Damn! Just what camera did you get for your b-day, exactly? That is so awesome. *stares*

A Canon EOS 450D (which is called a Canon Rebel XTi in the US, I think). It is awesome. I've had access to decent cameras before - at college, and my dad's camera - and once I'd used them, I just couldn't love my ordinary digital snaps camera. It just couldn't do what I knew was possible. I've been wanting this one for years. :)

It was just the kit lens that came with the camera! It's not even a macro lens - that's just cropped down from a much bigger (but still very, very close-up) picture. And it's still a billion miles better than my previous camera! *flails at the wonder that is a good camera*

Canon EOS 450D, a.k.a. the Rebel XTi (I adore the US name for it). It's just on the edge between amateur and pro, and I love it and want to squish it. I've been saving up for it. :)

Thank you! You can't really go wrong with a good camera and some nature.
