pepper: Pepperpot (Black Books plink plink fizz)
Today, I got given - as a Secret Santa gift - some Oil of Olay. Man, flashbacks. When we were tiny kiddiewinks, my brother and I used to buy Olay for my mum, every year - with the help of our dad, who actually paid for the stuff. So my reaction to it was... less than grateful (not in front of the giver, of course - it was, I think, well-intentioned). But then I thought about it... When my mum was the same age as I am now, she had a two-year-old and a baby. Maybe it IS time I started with the Olay.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! *shakes fist in vain at the Relentless March of Time*

---

Also, staying up until 7am reading makes my shoulders ache all the next day. I... think the immaturity and the agedness cancel each other out, there.

Happy Hannukkah to those who celebrate it! And happy Winter Solstice for those who celebrated that yesterday!

Hee! I bought some Oil of Olay this summer because they had a moisturizer with sunscreen that was supposed to be good for my type of skin. But their products have this faint but very distinctive smell and it took me right back to my grandmother's house. Now I know why my mom always used some other brand. Once that jar was empty, I switched to Biore.

Oh yeah, the smell - I've not opened it yet, but whenever I've tried Olay in shops, the smell is hugely evocative. Same with the perfume 'Charlie' (which I wouldn't use even if it didn't instantly say "MUM!" to me, so that's okay).
