Now that's just MEAN.

pepper: Pepperpot (Not seeing the humour)
Waah! I just had a very busy afternoon - tidying, clearing out cupboards, wrapping presents, etc - and felt very knackered and deserving of treats. So I collapsed in a chair and turned on the TV.  "What I'd like to watch right now is Shaun the Sheep*," I remarked to the universe. I flicked through channels - and lo! There it was, about to start! It was my reward for being productive, I decided. The credits started up... and boom, the picture went black. The sound was still there, but as Shaun the Sheep is entirely without words, this wasn't exactly helpful. We cursed, rescanned the channels, and did various other things - but it was only a ten minute show, so there was no hope. I gave up, and stared morosely at the black screen, listening to the music of the end credits... and boom, the picture came back.

Universe, you suck.

*Shaun the Sheep, for those who don't know, is a kid's claymation series by Aardman - the people who made Wallace & Grommit. It's very funny. I had a Shaun the Sheep backpack when I was in college.

if you dig around on YouTube you can find most of the episodes. They even have some with a polish song for the intro (presumably shown in Poland!)

Yeah, I'm following links now - I didn't think to look on YouTube. Thank you, I feel much more at peace with the universe now. *g*

That was where **I** first saw it. I have no TV (seriously) and was not into BBC iPlayer and my sister pointed me in the direction. My dad is a big fan as the farmer reminds him of someone he knows!

If only you had had picture and no sound!

We TiVo Shaun the Sheep for Small Child--but she's not allowed to delete episodes until we've made sure that we've seen them ourselves.

Do you mean you had a Shaun backpack in college, or a Wallace and Grommit backpack? Surely the latter!

Dang, maybe I need a Shaun userpic....

Yes! A picture and no sound would've made almost no difference. Heh.

It was a Shaun backpack in that it was shaped like Shaun. But yes, Wallace & Grommit in that it was from A Close Shave. Way before Shaun's own series. :D ETA: He looked like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120341513483&cguid=5b56be8511e0a0e203e71d47fff32f5d#ebayphotohosting).

Hee - yes, it's definitely one for grown-ups to enjoy, too.

Oh my gosh! He's so cute!

I had totally forgotten about "A Close Shave." We'll have to watch that again--I think we have it on VHS.

The Shaun the Sheep backpack! I miss those! My entire school was filled with more sheep than people for a while.

Glad you found them eventually, though (and Wallace and Gromit in four days! Eee!)

Hee - yes, they were rather ubiquitous at the time, weren't they? I thought I was unique for about 0.0003 seconds. *g*

New Wallace and Gromit yaaaaaaay!

Hee, thanks! What would I do without YouTube?

I need to dig my backpack out someday. And give it a good wash, because it was practically a black sheep, last time I saw it.
