Stargate: the Musical

Dreams. They're certainly getting around at the moment, aren't they? And in them, so am I. My last one was fantastic. I dreamed I'd written a Stargate musical. It was AWESOME. I don't remember much about the musical itself, except that one song was about replicators *jazz hands*, and it was going to star Chris Judge, with a story revolving around Teal'c being confused and trying to figure out what was going on. And then CJ came to a party I was throwing (and I had a fabulously bohemian, if also very messy, house), and I - very nervously - pitched it to him. He was very charming, very friendly, and slightly wary, but he agreed to give it a go. He had a lovely singing voice.

I wish I could share it with you, but sadly I can't write music, so it's pretty much a no-go from the start. :)

What does 'replicators' rhyme with...?

escapators? Oh sorry, wrong fandom ^_~

lol I'm sure Chris has a lovely voice. Sounds like a fun, if weird thing (the musical, I mean). *chuckles*

Yeah, I can really picture Chris singing. I'm trying to remember if I've ever heard about him singing anywhere... Nothing springs to mind...

I've just been given the suggestion "hot potatoes", which, you know, rhymes (if you say it with the right accent), but would be damn hard to work into a song about replicators...

Oh oh!!!! I remember an episode where they all sang!!!!!!! They sang Row Row Row Your Boat in the episode called....Urgo! All put in different rooms, but they end up singing the song together (as Jack said "yeah.. if you can call that singing!") ^_~

And yes, that would be hard to fit in the song lol

That's pretty cool. Or at least cooler than the one dream I've remembered in the past month where, um, there was Jack and Teal'c there, and at some point I think Jack became my mom. With a Maisy book. Whoops.

Exterminator?
Denominator?

Heh. Dreams - they're so random, huh? Mine aren't usually this fun, but lately I seem to have caught the fandom dreams that are going around. :)

Heh. Maybe after your conversation with BW, you impressed him so much that you got the green light for the musical! :D

Which... Stargate the Musical! How awesome would *that* be?!?!! I bet CJ does have a nice singing voice. Not sure about the rest, if "Urgo" is anything to go by. :D

Jazz hands!

Yes! Urgo! That must be what triggered it. Now it makes sense. But yes! Stargate the Musical! *wants* I think it may also be because I've been watching a lot of Buffy lately - it was very similar in feel to Once More With Feeling. "They got... the mustard... ooooout!"

Hee. Well, plus of course there's my blossoming friendship with RDA, after the Stargate screening... I know all the movers and shakers. In my dreams. :)

Sung to the tune of Joe Cocker's "Up Where We Belong", natch:

Thor lifts us up where we belong,
Where the death gliders fly
Stars go whizzing by!
Thor lifts us up where we belong,
Far from the world below,
Up where the solar winds blow.

Haha! It could be the big sentimental number to close the first act! I'm picturing performers dressed as death gliders, flying in on wires... You - and Caladria - are hired to do the lyrics. *g*

Stargate: The Musical. Tee hee! I'm assuming that you heard the DVD commentary for the SGA episode Trio?

Rhymes with replicators? Alligators?

DH, AT, and JS made up a "Stargate: The Musical" which AT says was designed specifically for small-town dinner theater shows. She mentions one song on the commentary that DH made up, the chorus went something like "The Wraith! The Wraith! The Wraith are a very bad race!" I believe that jazz hands might have been involved.

I'm glad to say that my brain does seem to be taking lessons - I don't usually dream of fandom stuff. It's more usually zombies or volcanoes or houses with really confusing architecture.

defoliators!

Chris Judge does have a CD out! I can't remember the details, but he spoke at a con here in Tampa a few years back, and I did hear him. He said fans had been bringing it up for him to sign, and he was kind of horrified, because it had been released only in Asia, and he's really not proud of it. He asked where they were getting it, and one of them said, "You know, 'www' stands for 'worldwide web'," which became one of his catch-phrases of the day.

I had to stop posting, actually, to run and get a Teal'c icon, because I just remembered I didn't have one. Now I do, so I can finish!

So all you need is a collaborator who can write music, and you and your musical will be ready to go!

Hee, ta. I'm very fond of this one, too. Jack so looks like he's about to give Teal'c a big kiss. :D

I had a completely different CJ in my head, and it took until a second after the masculine pronoun to work out who you meant ;-)

(Also: I need a West Wing icon. And a copy of your I-don't-have-the-right-icon icon.)

ETA: It's just occurred to me that, actually, I most associate the name CJ with The Fall And Rise Of Reggie Perrin.

I think we might have some sort of low level mental link thing. I had a dream about writing a musical not long ago. Except mine was about the economy which is no where near as fun. *pouts*

The idea of a song involving the words 'replicator' and 'fornicator' terrifies me. *g*

You posted about your dream, didn't you? I remember reading that. Definitely one of the reasons I had this dream - I tend to absorb things I've read, much more than things I see. :)

Synchronized staff weapon movements!

SG-1 so should have done a musical episode. Buffy comparison be-damned. :)

Me too, I sometimes dream that people on my friendslist are actually in a tv show, but it's not usually a show they tend to post about. At least I think that's right, a lot of times I half wake up after a dream and think 'wow, I've got to remember that one, it'll make a good LJ post' but then when I wake up in the morning I only remember wanting to remember but not the details.

i'm thinking replicator rhymes with terminator.
i've secretly wanted to see stargate: the musical for years. i don't know about CJ's voice, but somewhere on youtube there's video of MS leading the crowd in row, row, row your boat & he doesn't sound too bad IMHO.
we need to get joss whedon to write these songs because he did a good job with the buffy musical episode.
