Bah.

pepper: Pepperpot (Jack angry)
I'm feeling sorry for myself. I just burnt myself for the second time this weekend (well, third, if you count the tiny splash of hot fat when A was making Sunday brunch today). The one just now, when my hand brushed the oven shelf briefly whilst taking something out, really isn't that bad - but the one from yesterday, when a piece of superheated tomato stuck itself to my lip, is still uncomfortable a day later, has left blisters, and is going to make me look like I've dribbled lunch down my face for the next however-long-it-takes-to-heal. *headdesk*

It's not the end of the world, I know, but still... it's making me grumpy. It's bad enough that I can't seem to dress myself sensibly (or at least not like a giant egg) - now it seems I shouldn't be allowed to feed myself, either.

---

Claims are now being taken for [livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton 's Jack's Alpha-Bits, fic to be posted October 27. Despite feeling horrendously unable to write, of late, I've claimed P. I'm sure I can manage 100+ words in a month and a bit.

Speaking of ficathons, the [livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree  stories are starting to appear, woohoo! There's some really good stuff already been posted - I really, really love Nothing Gold Can Stay by [livejournal.com profile] bohemian_heart (and I'm not just saying that because it was one of my prompts *g*).

---

I want to write something. I don't want to go to work tomorrow. And my lip and my hand HURT. *grumps*

---

ETA: Oh! I nearly forgot - I watched Seth yesterday, and was reminded of [livejournal.com profile] niamaea 's Everybody's Crazy Jack fashion series. Why? Well...

Hamner: In fact, I'm to issue you with an emergency Special Agent credential. He's put you in charge of this operation.
Jack: Excellent! My first order of business: get me one of those cool jackets. Extra-large. Double XL if you've got it.

Jack, Jack, Jack... *shakes head sadly*

Ow! I'm so sorry! I mean, you can work around a burned hand, but it's very hard not to use your mouth. =(

It really seems like it's been one of *those* weekends for a number of folks. Hope the weekdays don't follow suit!

Well, really, mostly it's been a lovely weekend. I'm just in a bad mood now. It's probably more due to the fact that it's Sunday evening, than because of my various injuries. :)

Poor you! Have some virtual burn cream!

I don't want to go to work tomorrow either, actually.

Ugh, work. Why must it happen all the time, eh?

Aw, poor thing! *sends you aloe*

Maybe you should just curl up with a soft blanket and some Stargate. ;D

Feel better!

Maybe he wants to pretend he's as burly as Teal'c?

Could be. Or maybe he was really huge as a child, and never got out of the habit of buying the largest size available?

*shrugs* Or maybe he wants to look like he's wearing someone else's clothing. With Jack, you just never know. :)

Maybe, though he doesn't strike me as someone who was huge as a child. Or as someone who spent much time buying his own clothes rather than family hand-me-downs and whatever his mother stuck in his closet so he wasn't in rags.

He has spent a good amount of time under cover :)

You know, maybe there's an explanation right there: he just doesn't know HOW to shop for himself. *g*

I always thought...
...it was just because he was tall. Or something.

hm.

Re: I always thought...
Ah, so he's buying stuff to fit him 'cause he's tall, and it means it's wide, too? Okay, that makes sense. I'm not used to dealing with tallness. *g*

lol
me either, for that matter. ;) But my dad (stepdad, technically) is 6 feet 6 inches tall, and for awhile they had to get bigger clothes for him just to get the height right.

Or he could've been thinking about getting it for General Hammond? ^_~

Aloe Vera's your friend! Hope you feel better soon!

*chuckles* I love that bit in that episode ^_^. I loves Jack's Jack-isms ^_~

Yeah, I love aloe vera. Vitamin E cream is working well too, though.

Heh - Jackisms are definitely what first attracted me to the show.
