1. Fifth Doctor: You never forget your first. He was MY Doctor, and there's no one quite like him. Yes, the celery thing was kind of silly, and the cricket costume was a bit daft, too – but he was Doctor to the core, hard as nails when you least expect it, and yet utterly tender-hearted. You would not believe how emotional I got over the meeting between the Fifth and Tenth Doctors. "You know what, Doctor? You were my Doctor." *sniffles*

2. Fran Katzenjammer: Okay, I know most of you have still not heard of her (I think that's a crime, btw), but all I can say is – she's like Bridget Jones, only funnier and more real. So many times I've watched her in Black Books, and recognised EXACTLY something she's said or done. (Justifying the shoes she's taking on holiday: "Supposing we're invited to a yacht party by drug dealers…!").

3. Frodo: I sort of love Frodo. Except… well… he's so… Okay, every now and then, I get a bit fed up of all his problems. He's like the friend you adore, but they just seem to have all these terrible, tragic things happen to them, and sometimes a tiny, sinful voice in your head whispers, "God, it's always happening to him, isn't it?" I know – blaming the victim is bad and wrong, and in real life I am completely opposed to it – but oh, Frodo, won't you please be little more selfish? Yeah, okay, you carry on your narrow shoulders the heavy burden of responsibility to ensure that Middle Earth doesn't fall under the rule of the Dark Lord – but would that really be so bad? Maybe Sauron just had some bad PR.

(I'm evil; I know. Never choose me to be the Ring Bearer. Srsly. I'd get about as far as the Barrow Downs, and go, "Screw this – I'm off back to the Prancing Pony for a nice honey ale and that sexy half-elven lapdancer.")

4. Faith: I have a sneaking love for Faith (although I do confuse her with Kennedy sometimes, too). I can sympathise with the sibling rivalry thing. And she is so irresponsibly fun-seeking (see above my issues with Frodo and responsibility). Okay, yeah, she's bad, and also kind of nuts sometimes – I don't say I'd like to hang out with her (well…). She fails, and falls – I like that in a character, especially when it's done with humour and awareness of how cool it is to be a hot chick with superpowers. I like how she ended in a weirdly secure place, relationship-wise, with someone who was kind of grown-up. I imagine that's going to be quite a learning curve for her. She also talks that magical, incomprehensible American/Whedon slang that always delights me (what does "five by five" mean?).

5. Jay Felger : I like losers, and I like Stargate's sometimes-unsubtle brand of humour. I can't seem to help it. I like the exasperation he brings out in everyone, and the fact that even his fellow scientists are embarrassed by him. And he created a virus that, when adapted, knocked out the entire Gate system. It's quite an achievement. He just... tickles me.
