pepper: Pepperpot (Jack yo-yo)
Continuum doesn't get released here until Aug 18th. Why? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? It's SO unfair. And that means I won't be able to read my flist properly for about three weeks. *sulks*

But to combat my impatience, I have finally bought Season 10. Glee! I've only seen 200, and that hardly counts as a 'proper' episode. I wasn't leaping to the shop to buy it the moment it came out, because I'm pathetically obsessed with Jack, so I waited until it dropped to a more sensible price (£60 was just ludicrous). But now I have it, I'm really excited. Stargate eps that I haven't seen! I want to see Bad Guys! And Unending! And the one where Teal'c goes to see the Vagina Monologues! And the one where Cam and Vala go to his hometown! And and and...!

But I'm still sulking about Continuum.

---

FanLib, you is funny.

---

I used to need minimum of eight hours sleep - preferably more. But over recent times, I seem to have trained my body to think that six or seven hours is perfectly fine and functionable, and moreover, that I should go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. It's quite a revolution for me. I love my sleep. I have epic lie-ins. I have spent weeks in a row with not a glimpse of a Saturday morning. I've always been like this. My mum used to have to wake me up on Christmas mornings, because she was impatiently waiting for my brother and I to open our stockings.

I'm also a night owl - left to my own devices, I quickly gravitate to being awake until 3 or 4am, and then sleeping until gone noon (which is great for when I have Redial chats - which reminds me, I must post a reminder about the one tomorrow). My school years feel like a bit of a daze, because I wasn't really awake for half the day. But now, my body is (mostly) complying with the work routine. Why it should have finallly kicked in after all these years, I don't know, but it does make life easier.

On the other hand, I don't like that I've become this responsible, this compliant about How Things Have To Be. It's very depressing. :)

I know exactly what you mean about Contnuum and it really pisses me about (a) how much these things cost and (b) why we in the UK always get stuff last. They can't tell us off for using bit torrent etc if they don't treat us like the rest of the world.

Yeah, it's irksome - there doesn't seem to be any reason for it. I've noticed it less recently, probably because companies have started to become aware that the best way to not push people into illegal downloading is to release things worldwide at the same time. I'm finding this one particularly frustrating, though - because I'll be unable to join in the squee. Ech.

And yes to the cost. Bloody hell but we're ripped off.

You have new Stargate to watch. That's monumentally unfair. I sulked for a good three days after I had no new episodes to watch (films aren't the same. At all.)

If you like Vala, Momento Mori. It's about eighth or so.

:D It's so exciting to have new Stargate! Although I'm probably looking forward to Continuum more - but yeah, I know what you mean; with a series, there's so much to see and chew over and enjoy. Films are too quick.

Memento Mori. *takes note*

It really makes no sense to me that they don't line up the release dates for the movies. We want you around to share all the glee! =( But yay for season 10!

I'm with you, I want to be a night owl like I used to be - silly societal conventions. Also, silly children who think that 6am is an appropriate wake-up time. =P

I want to share the glee tooooooooooooooo! And surely they realise that, particularly with a straight-to-DVD movie like this, it's going to be the fans watching it - fans who are likely to get impatient when they see other fans enjoying it. It doesn't make commercial sense, IMO. Oh well.

Heh, I was a great child - I never woke my parents up at 6am. Of course, on the other hand, I was a right pain to wake up on school days... :)

*pout* seems unfair about the release date. Don't they know that all of us communicate on the internet about these things? Uh, wait, don't answer that.

But season 10! YAY! One of my top 3 fav seasons! (yes, sad about Jack) but everything else about it is fun :) Can't wait to hear your impressions about it.

It's annoying, isn't it? Does not make good business sense, and means anyone who doesn't download it has to avoid spoilers all over the place. Bah.

Hee, well, I will no doubt post more about my season 10 thoughts, for what it's worth. And go back to read everyone else's posts about the eps. :)

Oh yay! I like Season Ten! I found the team dynamic much more cohesive than the patchiness of Season Nine.

Plus, I like Cam. :-)

Poor pepper. The internet will be a scary place for a bit. I'm going to have to avoid it when I get back from vacation (i.e. "holiday") until I watch the movie myself.

Yeah, I've heard people say that it worked better than season 9. I quite liked 9, but it never grabbed my attention, so I'm curious to see them do it justice.

We should build a spoiler-free pillow fort... :)

I liked individual episodes of Season 9, but thinking about the season as a whole--it was a bit odd. Strange comment when SG-1 is episodic by nature, granted, but they were going more arclike for both characters and plot lines in S9.

Season Ten just seemed overall more cohesive to me. Looking forward to your Season Ten thoughts.

Pillow fort! I'll bring the chocolate and chips (er, crisps). We can pull out our favorite episodes from the early years and hunker down. :-)

Ummmm...*looks at DVD copy of downloaded from internet copy of Continuum received from friend somewhere in Europe*...I'll just say...it's really really GOOD. I've squeed, wailed and cried my way through it. I've watched it at least once a week since I got it. It's a really good quality copy to.

I'm baaaaaaaaad!! But I couldn't turn down the offer when it was made ;-) But, I still think it totally unfair we should have to be last to see these things. They really should match up the release dates for these things.

One final thing.....Watch The Shroud!!! You have to watch The Shroud! If only for the Jack and Daniel interaction.

I agree, totally unfair. I'm most likely going to hold out and not download, but the temptation is really, REALLY tough. Meh.

I'll watch the Shroud! I'll watch it!!! ;) I'm going to watch them in order (well, aside from 200, which I've already seen, so if I rewatch it first it won't really matter... *g*).

The Shroud is part of an arc of episodes, so watching in order is a good idea anyway. :-)

Watching 200 first, eh? LOL. But the first episode is so cool--my favorite scene is the one with Sam (and not that Sam isn't in more than one scene, but you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it).

I love Hammond in the puppet sequence...and then there's the Teal'c PI, and then there's the..."you weren't there!" and then there's the...

That ep was so awesome! Although I didn't like the "end sequence" as much as the version after "Wormhole X-Treme".

Aw - I apologise in advance, as I'm probably going to squee about it a lot, soon. :) But I will put it behind a cut, as I know there's quite a few people on my flist who've not yet seen it.

Hee, and maybe she'll hit that point at which the show turns from 'lightweight but entertaining' to 'OMG I LOVE THESE PEOPLE!', and will then speed through the rest? :)

Sadly, she's not too keen on any of the characters yet except Teal'c and Martoof (and the Tok'ra story line). She is impressed with the writing most of the time, but she thinks that mid-season 2 wasn't the greatest. We watched "Fifth Race" last night... I enjoyed it, she was not impressed, but she's not big on little grey/green aliens with big eyes. They kind of freak her out.

I must admit that I have no clear idea of when Continuum comes out. I just know there'll be stuff about it at Comic Con and I think it comes out after Comic Con.

Yay Season 10! *hugs it*

I am experiencing the same change re. sleep habits. Very weird. And very annoying, coming as it does only a year or so before I get to start making my own schedule and sleeping at the hours I used to prefer because we'll own our own bookstore. Stupid body. What is with that?

See, that's why I don't know the date. My summers are usually divided into two eras: BCC (Before Comic Con) and ACC (After Comic Con). I cannot properly focus on dates that take place ACC when I am still living BCC.

That's still so awesome. And maybe you'll be able to lapse back into old sleeping patterns, once you can. Or maybe you'll be all responsible and get up super early, because it's your business and that's surely got to be more inspiring than getting up to help run someone else's business. :)

(You seriously have to see Black Books, if you haven't yet. Although I don't know if it's available over there. But there's this bit where the bookstore owner doesn't want to wake up early, because "no one wants to buy books at half-ten!", and then the 'I Love Books' man turns up, and... well, it's funny, I swear!)

What's frustrating to me is that the squee has already started. Call me old-fashioned or crazy, but I think waiting for the actual release date is fun--not to mention, I really like the excitement of the first few days.

And I don't even really want to see, "OMG! I loved it!" comments. OR "I hated it and threw the DVD under the bus." I don't know. I'm just weird that way.

But August 18 is NOT FAIR, DAMN IT.

Yeah, I've tended to skim past any posts that mention it, spoiler-free or not. I don't want to be watching it thinking, "Why did people hate / love this? What am I missing?" - it's very distracting.

And, yeah - it'd be nice if the squee could all go off at the same time. It's more fun that way - like the flurry of excitement on LJ after there's been a particularly key episode shown on TV. Ah well.

That was me with season 9. I just ordered it last week to get free shipping for Continuum. It was the last one I needed to fill out the series, but it wasn't high on my 'must buy' list because there's only like three minutes of Jack in the entire season and AT was away on maternity leave for the first part of it. Vala can only make up for so much.

It's totally unfair that you have to wait three extra weeks. LJ's already a minefield of spoilers with all the people who have downloaded it. This media revolution needs to hurry up and bring about worldwide release dates. You need your Stargate and I need my Top Gear. :D

Yes - where's a media revolution when you need one, eh? *g* Have you seen the Top Gear where Clarkson is being hunted? I heard about that in the local papers before I saw it on TV, as it was filmed somewhere near here. Heh.

And yes about S9 - I had a hard time with it, particularly at the beginning, with no Sam, no Jack, proper replacements for Hammond and Janet, everyone looking like they were wondering why they were back... Not to put you off, though. ;)

I haven't seen that one. That sounds hilarious, I love it when the guys try to anything that's even moderately physical or outdoorsy. Ineptitude is really funny when it's not me. :)

So far BBC America isn't saying when they'll start playing the new season here. But they are airing season 6 this summer which is new for us.

Don't worry, you couldn't put me any farther off season 9, it's by far my least favorite. Ten isn't all that bad, but I have to admit my heart wasn't really in it after Jack left.
