Yay! I knew someone around here would've read it. I've re-read it more than a few times, myself. The whole section with Kirk and Ambassador Sanchez ("Charlotte... Caliente Sanchez..." - damn, I remember far too much of it to be healthy) and the Klingons doing their hotel farce has me in hysterics. And the inflatable starship! And the singing barbarians! And the computer that falls in love with Spock and keeps trying to feed him peppermint milkshake! And McCoy being pissed off with everyone! And the pie fight!!! *g*

Must be why I got into Stargate so quickly, I love Scifi plus humor.

Yeah, I think I'm the same. Trek was so earnest - I tended to like it when they had moments of humour. Like whenever Q appeared, or the tribbles, and the whole of the ...fourth movie? The one with the whales.
