These people keep knocking quietly. I ask you, what's the POINT? It's not like I'm going to have to get up and let them in any less. Grr.

I get ranty about this 'cause I've worked in a couple of places where I've had to open the door for various imbeciles. The worst was the one with the glass door, when I was a receptionist. It didn't make a sound when I pressed the unlocking mechanism - so they'd knock, I'd unlock it, and they'd stand out there waving, wanting me to let them in. I'd, meanwhile, stand inside, waving for them to try the (now unlocked) door. If I eventually gave up waiting for them to try the door, and got up to go open it, that meant letting go of the unlocking mechanism - thus making it seem as though I'd just been refusing to let them in until they'd waved at me for long enough... urgh. Stupid system.
