Working my way around lj's current outage to say thank you for sending me the Wikipedia link to this temple. I could tell by looking at the architecture that it was a late period, probably Ptolemaic temple.

That it would have been one of the ones rescued from the Aswan High Dam would make sense, as would my ignorance of its whereabouts (my knowlege and interests are much more concentrated in the Pharaonic period, rather than tne Late period, Ptolemaic, or Roman periods). I was only in grade school when the Aswan High Dam was built, and not reading many newspapers.

I did not doubt, btw, that you knew where you were when you took the picture. I just was curious as to details, and I really, genuinely had not heard of this temple. I thought it just might be possible that you had 2 action figure theater photos and pulled the wrong one. Hope I didn't seem to imply that you were not remembering your own trip!

Bes here is one of my few Egypto-icons. He's not expressing an opinion, he's scaring the malevolent forces of the universe away.

Edited because I forgot to close parentheses, and that's just creepy!
