Hoorah, Friday! What can I tell you about today?
Well, for one thing, 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy is downright depressing and I'm not sure I should read it in this gloomy weather. It just keeps getting worse, but I can't stop now - I'm committed. I have to keep going in the faint hope that somehow, against all the odds, against every likelihood, it'll turn out okay. Even though I'm sure it won't. McCarthy, damn him, has engendered the same need to be blind to reality in me as he has in his main character. It's really good, though. I'm going to have such bad nightmares.
Also, now I want to stock up for the apocalypse. Suddenly, making preserves seems less like fun and more like a necessity.
---
Oh! That's it, I knew I had a reason to post: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AURORA! I wish I had a fic for you, but sadly the brain is not co-operating. If, however, you would like to request something, I'm often quite good at doing what I'm told... :)
