Cliche meme, snurched from
aelfgyfu_mead, because it looked rather fun.
Bold the clichés you have written, and italicise those you've considered writing.
( Just because they're cliches doesn't mean they're BAD! )
ETA: Argh! When arranging a meeting for 15 managers, it's considered only polite to inform the admin staff who're going to have to set it up! Preferably BEFORE people start arriving! *headdesk* "Dear [colleague], I feel like death, do you mind if I go home?" would have been okay, but "Dear [boss], I know my colleague isn't in and you have a meeting for 15 people, and I know it'd leave you without any admin staff, but I feel like death, do you mind if I go home?" just isn't possible.
*stiffens uppper lip and carries on*
