If ever there was a case for finding a cure for this terrible disease... it's him.
I know that there is medication for early on-set that can hold back the tide but whether it will help... Even so - next time I see someone collecting for a charity for this illness - they'll get a larger donation than usual.
I am not familiar with this person, and yet...sadness ensues. It sounds, however, like he's keeping a stiff upper lip and focusing on the positive and all that jazz.
My first reaction was, to quote Jack O'Neill, "Oh, crap!" My mother died of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, and it is a hideous way to go. I hate that his brain, as so many other great ones before him, is taking this path. I am going to go reread Good Omens, one of my favorite books of his--I like many of the Discworld series, but Good Omens is just great. Melissa M.

I second you. It's horribly unfair. And I'm welling up, too. :( :( :(
