I do wonder if it's a) a coincidence, b) done by the writers, or c) RDA's idea. Either way, it's sickeningly cute... and completely gets me, both times.

There do seem to be a lot more dogs in both shows than is strictly necessary.

Although, if you're playing a character for that long, I can see why you'd want to include stuff you actually enjoy, if you have the influence. A lot of MacGyver seems to be excuses to go out and play. (Stargate a lot less, because the show doesn't work that way.)

It's probably the idea of the tough-guy exterior, soft buttery inside that does it...but really! And I would've been the *last* one to think of such a thing up until just recently...so it's all Jack's fault. Obviously.
