So, let me show you Adrian Lester...

He's in this show called Hustle (or Hu$tle, for US peeps), where he plays Mickey Stone, the leader of a gang of con artists (think The Sting, only modern - they did in fact do the con from the end of The Sting, and it was glorious).



Sadly, he wasn't in the last series of Hustle, because he was filming a pilot in LA for something that sounds incredibly unlikely ever to happen - but it's all okay, because I heard this Friday that he's coming back in the next series, w00t!



He's also in something called Bonekickers, which starts this coming Tuesday. It's from the people who wrote Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes, and is apparently a cross between CSI and Indiana Jones. It looks awfully daft, but in a fun way.



Also, surreallis, he's in Maybe Baby. I've not seen that. Perhaps I should. He's also played Hamlet.



And apparently has ambitions to be the first black Doctor Who - which I think would be fantastic. Although he's possibly not weird enough for the role - but then again, he's RADA-trained, so I think he'd be actorly enough.








This pic below, btw, is from my favourite ep of Hustle. There's a lot of rivalry between Mickey and the young upstart conman, Danny, so the gang made them fight it out - by dropping them in Trafalgar Square, naked. The person with the most money at the end of the day would be the winner. To their eternal credit, these two actors genuinely did run naked through Trafalgar Square (at some early hour of the morning, of course).

It's a lovely photo, isn't it? A lot of the photos I found of him were publicity shots, and tended to be a bit same-y - but that one's from a photography project, so it's more arty. :)

The blonde guy (Marc Warren) has been in a ton of stuff - he was a guest star in Doctor Who, and was in Band of Brothers, too.

YES! I knew i'd seen him somewhere, but I hadn't seen any of the shows you'd mentioned. He was Sam's best friend in Maybe Baby. I loved him in that. He was wonderfully dry and witty, and just generally adorable.

Ah, I should definitely watch it sometime, then. Heh - he's a big underground success. I recommend Hustle, if it's on anywhere where you are - but only the seasons with Adrian Lester in. :)

Oh, GOOD choice. I was lucky enough to see him live on stage as Rosalind in Cheek By Jowl's all-male production of As You Like It, and have fangirled him ever since.

I will also mention that typing "donmar company" into the search bar at YouTube will find you lots of clips from the production of Company where he played Bobby. For example, here he is doing Side by Side by Side.

Ooh, *is jealous*. I'd love to see him on stage. Pictures of him doing Hamlet and Henry V kept cropping up when I was looking for pictures, and that's the thing about theatre that I love and find frustrating - that, if I'd seen it, it would've been unique, but because I didn't, I probably won't get the chance.
