Whee! It's past midnight here (it's nearly 1am, in fact), so happy New Year to you all! I hope it's a good one.

Me, I'm spending the evening at home, sipping Piper Heidsieck and eating cheese and crackers and cranberry sauce, and watching Madness on Jools Holland's Hootenanny. The Doctor and the Master are dancing along in the audience, although that may be the champagne talking.

I'm planning a Stargate marathon and quality time with the afghan I should have finished crocheting LONG ago myself.

Me I spent the night with my Mum and Dad. Their neighbours popped in just after midnight and didn't leave until 2:30 this morning.

Did you see and hear any of the spectacular firework display at the Eye? The fireworks here in Edinburgh were LOUD.

Nope, didn't see any of the fireworks down here - I'm too far away to see it in real life, and didn't turn over the TV channel (I didn't even remember about it until you mentioned it, in fact!). A few people in the neighbourhood had fireworks - although not, I suspect, on quite as grand a scale. *g*

I like spending New Year's more quietly. I suppose every once in a while it might be nice to live it up, but...I like hanging out with people I can hear, personally.

I've never been to a New Year's party that I've genuinely enjoyed - that may be because I don't really like parties that much, or it may be to do with knowing I then have to travel home from wherever it is, and that always being a huge, giant nightmare. Anyhow, yeah, spending New Year at home is definitely my preferred option. Last year, we invited people round, and that was okay, too.
