pepper: Pepperpot (Ficathon)

Contents of brain may have settled in transit

Watched Allegiance again last night. Because I can. I wonder how they decided who got to be the hero and shoot the bad guy in the end? I suppose Jacob got to have a scene where he counsels Jack about post-Abyss trauma. It tickled me how Bra'tac makes his eyes REALLY BIG when he's in the forest and straining all his senses to detect invisible bad guys. Also, I just stared at the scene where Jack is asking Jacob and Bra'tac to use their combined powers of awesomeness to keep the Jaffa and Tok'ra in line, and wondered how the film stock didn't spontaneously explode.

I haven't had a chance to use this icon in a while. I'm wondering whether signing up for a ficathon now is asking for trouble, or whether it'll kick my inspiration into gear. But I feel very bad - baaaaaaaaaaaaad - that I didn't finish two whole ficathons ([livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree and [livejournal.com profile] reel_sg1 – I'm so sorry, Jenn and Kellifer! I still have the stories wanting to be finished, but they may be a few years late! *is bad pepper*). I don't have any particular ficathon in mind. Well, except possibly the [livejournal.com profile] sjficathon, but that's not until 2009. Not that 2009 is far away...

My weekend? Busy. There was family visiting, and then dealing with banks and utility companies (WHY would they assume that A and I have a joint account? Asshats), and then a birthday party (yay socialising!), and then Sunday brunch (yay more socialising! Yay fried eggs!), shopping, tidying, trying to fix some furniture, making lemon meringue pie, and... other stuff, I forget now. Anyhow, I feel like I've been out of the office for ages.

OMG I need to finish knitting that scarf. And I need to buy Christmas presents. And cards. And I need to design cards for my mum. And I need to... phone my temp agency and ask what holiday I've accumulated. Srsly.

LJ, what is this you keep doing with formatting? Stoppit.

I have nothing in particular to add, just saw an opportunity to use my Jacob and Bra'tac icon because...their awesomeness is amazing.

Oh! If you watch Numb3rs (not sure what the schedule for it is in UK vis a vis US), but Tony guest starred in one big scene. Looked quite dapper in a suit.

P.S. When is sjficathon? I've been thinking of doing the samjack friendship athon after the holidays, but I don't want to conflict.

Numb3rs is on... somewhere, here. I think it's after NCIS... *must have a look*

No news yet on timings for sjficathon - there was just a post to say 'sjficathon 2009'. I'd guess it'll start collecting signups sometime in the new year, but that's purely speculation.

Oh, I will - mostly I'm busy in nice ways. (Except, of course, for the 8 hours at work every day, but we get used to these things... *g*)

*hugs back*

My reel_sg1 fic is not finished either. What's that been? Like five thousand years now? I really WANT to finish it because I have such a solid beginning on it. I just... ARGH.

But one of the reasons I like ficathons like these, instead of the traditional exchange is that no one gets hurt and goes without a story if someone can't get theirs finished. :)

September last year, I think. Something like that. Arrrrrgh. I have a ton of it written, too, and I do keep chipping away at it. I have scenes in my head that I really want to write. I'm not altogether happy with what I have, but I think it could be good once I get the whole thing down and can edit it to a high polish (currently it's suffering from being much too much like the original movie). What movie were/are you doing? Mine is Labyrinth, and I SO want to get to the part with Teal'c and Sir Didymus.

And yes, that's true. Although possibly the lack of a sharp point of guilt is why I've not finished... *g*

I'm doing Mad Max/The Road Warrior, and I have this whole beginning all written out where Sam and Daniel are cops after the apocalyptic wars, and they're sort of being stalked by these three mysterious strangers who are all in leather and who are looking to bring them back to The Colonel in the Wastelands. Unknown to them at this point...

*sigh*

Ah, cool! Mmm, leather...

Oh how I love Allegiance (also known as "Jack and The Really Big Gun"). I watched both parts of Evolution last night - Reynolds! Jack and Daniel in the jungle! Jack and Sam Eye Secks! Jacob and Bra'tac team ftw!

How did the lemon meringue pie turn out? I've never attempted one of those myself.

Lemon meringue pie was excellent. I have a combination of recipes, and the lemon part is sharp and thin, and the meringue is chewy and sweet. That reminds me, I need to do a recipe post.

Ooh, Evolution, yes, any episodes with both Jacob and Bra'tac are 66.7% better.

I do so love "Allegiance". Which says a lot, since I tend to be easily annoyed by both the Tok'ra and the Rebel Jaffa. But this ep really is of the win. Sam is geeky and Jack is impatient and Jacob and Bra'tac pwn everyone and Bra'tac is literally too awesome to die!

They have a machine that makes Jack tingle. What's not to love? :)

Allegiance!!! How much do I love that episode? For all sorts of reasons, but mostly for the complete and utter WIN that was Jacob and Bra'tac together. (I had to say that just so I could use the Jacob/Bra'tac icon I snagged from Aurora).
