Heroes is awesome for all the reasons you mention, and... no one really cares about why SG-13 is under fire offworld (do they?)

Actually, I love the action parts of Heroes - they add a whole level of realism to the story. It helped me identify with the SG teams and what they're out there doing every day. And I loved Adam Baldwin's Colonel Dixon. Man, I wish they could have got him back on the show.
