But when you don't know which one? It's torture. I'm not a big fan of the surprise/"hook" beginning with a mystery to find out what brought you to this point. (I don't like "Meridian" partly for that reason too.)
Jack was obviously a red herring (hello? Name above the credits!) But, I mean, we only saw Sam at the beginning. And then Daniel finally popped up. Do you realize we don't see Teal'c until around the half-way point of the show? (At least after twenty minutes).
So I wasn't paying attention to what was happening in the show because I was just doing a mental checklist of characters. When it was finally revealed. I totally did a..."oh, they killed Janet. WTF?! They killed JANET! You bastards! And why didn't you just SAY that in the first place!"
As you may note, I'm still harboring a tiny bit of resentment over this. ;-)
