I got an email a few days ago about having been nominated for Stargate Fan Awards, but I managed to screw it up somehow - but now it's been sorted, and I officially know that someone(s) out there has been so kind and squeeful as to nominate Sleeping Dogs, Float Like A Butterfly, and It's Been An Honor. Aw, shucks, you guyz...!

How amused am I that they're all gen fics? Very. *g*

Go you! *throws balloons* Was the problem when you signed on and changed your password as per the instructions and then were unable to see your noms, by any chance?

Yup. I contacted them and they're working on it. Bit of an oversight that, eh?

[puts awards team hat on]

It was a glitch in the software. A subset of the temporary '-nom' accounts we created had a flaw that had to be ferreted out. Sadly, it's the kind of thing our testing wouldn't readily discover. Fortunately, it's fixed now. ;-)

[switches awards team hat back for fangirl hat ;-)]

*feels a bit like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar*

Considering I've never hosted or worked on the team for anything of any size, I've no right to moan when things go a little swirly. You guys are all doing a grand job, sorting out the thousand-odd (?) noms and making everything work.

It's fixed? I'll go try it out. Thanks. :)

*hands over a half dozen cookies*

Not a problem! Seriously, there's always something to go wrong. Last year, or the year before last (I can't remember) there was a problem with user account passwords and I spent two days processing at least a thousand help request emails. The only 'good' thing about that was that it was something I could quickly resolve for each person, but I got heartily sick of resetting passwords. ;-);-)

We've been upgrading the software and automating more processes. As with everything, it's a work in progress. :-)

Nah, not a password problem. I changed my display name, which turns out it was a Very Bad Idea. I assumed, seeing it was, you know, allowed... :)

Thank you! You, too!

Ahh. Same kind of issue though. I mean - why wouldn't you change from username-nom?

It makes me think of lolcats. *g* Nom nom nom...

Hee yes! That's it - thanks for identifying why I found it vaguely amusing.

Every time I've typed my username into it, I've found myself muttering quietly, "Nom nom nom..."
